we had a very warm welcome and a lovely couple caring for us and our two children. we just stayed one night, I think most do. it was clean and we had everything we needed (small kitchen even). we felt also very safe in the property. the communication with the owner was very good, he helped with everything.

A perfect stop over between Pura Vida Ecolodge and Puerto Viejo on the Caribbean side. We were met with open arms and warm smiles and were incredibly well looked after throughout our short stay. It genuinely felt like we were at home... Incredibly friendly and helpful staff and a really beautiful set up, stunning views, wonderfully kept gardens and basic but comfortable cabins. They even managed to make some tweaks in the kitchen in order to offer us a super tasty vegan evening meal and very yummy breakfast. Gracias Antonio y amigos, we'll be back and for longer next time - seems like there is SO much to explore in the area!

Anabelle and Mark, owners/founders built this place, settled on the top of a ‘mountain’ with superb views, to host students and professors studying the Pacuare nature reserve. Later on they decided to open up for tourists. It’s a very relaxed place with great hosts. We quickly felt at home and enjoyed the peaceful place. The longer you stay, the higher the appreciation. The combination of the environment, Mark y Anabelle (thanks for the great conversations) , the fantastic food in the evening, organizing a great rafting trip, visiting waterfalls & Turyalba, refreshing swimming pool and nature fulfilled all our needs and beyond! Therefore we gave it a 10.

Great new property with comfortable beds, sofas and chair. Very clean and modern facility. TV with Netflix was a bonus. Kitchen well equipped and nice outdoor space. Excellent communication with owner, including recommendations for where to eat. Great location to raft the Pacuare river

Friendly, kind an communicative staff. An enormous and spotlessly clean room with kitchen facilities, complimentary essentials and aircon. The lighting was great and we had a view over the garden. Parking was onsite and very secure. We ate at Martels as suggested and we enjoyed both the food and the ambience. It was definitely a locals spot as opposed to a tourist trap and that made a refreshing change. We strolled around the neighbourhood in the morning and everyone greeted us with a smile and a buenos días. What a great place to really feel the essence of Pura Vida.
