(This is not a classic accommodation and is therefore exactly the right place for people looking for authenticity) I gained great experiences here and learned a lot about life and nature in Sri Lanka. there is a lot to improve. The most incredible location in a village with breathtaking views. The food is fabulous, and you can see how things are cooked as the kitchen is open. Kids loved making their own food with the two ladies who cook traditional meals. Freshwater pool is really good, and you can feel the freshness of the spring water. There were cinnamon trees everywhere and Jagath shows us how cinnamon is cut and prepared as a spice. We will definitely return next year.

Our stay at Kandy Lotus Chalet was absolutely incredible! From the moment we arrived, the manager and housekeeper made us feel so welcome, always ready to help and offering great recommendations for places to visit. The breakfast was outstanding—we had a Sri Lankan breakfast, which was both delicious and generous in portion. It was the perfect start to our days in Kandy. The room was spacious, clean, and beautifully lit, offering a comfortable and relaxing ambiance. The bathroom was also large, stocked with all necessary toiletries and fresh towels. Everything was spotlessly clean, making the entire stay feel luxurious, yet at an incredibly affordable price. One of the most thoughtful touches was that the housekeeper waited for us both nights we stayed, ensuring we were comfortable. The manager continuously checked in to make sure we had the best Sri Lankan experience, and we highly recommend following his suggestions to make the most of your time in Kandy. Great food, exceptional hosts, and service above and beyond. Beautiful garden setting, quiet off-street, well-appointed , clean, comfortable spacious rooms.
