Bairnsdale is a good country town with supermarkets, cafes...

Bairnsdale is a good country town with supermarkets, cafes and other shops. There is a train staion and local buses. There is a river with nice waterside walks. The Catholic church of St Marys is particularly worth a visit as the ceiling has been painted in the Italian style. (See my photos)

getting around was easy, however I was only there overnight, I did not go and do touristy things as I had driven six hours and just wanted to rest. I would love to go back and spend more time there exploring.

The resort was wonderful, I cannot fault anything at all.

The resort was wonderful, I cannot fault anything at all. The place was clean, comfortable and the staff all went out of their way to accommodate us! We enjoyed great food at different venues and visited Painsville, Lakes Entrance and did sight seeing in Bairnsdale. The Information centre was a great help. The only thing I didn't really like was the noise of the traffic early in the morning.

Bairnsdale has many good cafes, pubs and restaurants - lovely places to eat breakfast, lunch or dinner. We generally visit to see family, but Bairnsdale is a great base from which to explore all the local attractions - including, for example, the Buchan Caves.

Bairnsdale is a large country town.

Bairnsdale is a large country town. The Catholic Church as you you enter from the Melbourne side on the left is definitely worth a visit. A volunteer is available and has a wealth of information in relation to the church and history of the area. Not to be missed. There are plenty of shops, the Potted Pear, gift wares, is great. There are museums, historical and Aboriginal. Bairnsdale is a lovely place for a day visit.

Good location at the start of Bairnsdale. Comfortable king-size bed with good quality bedding. The shower was good, with lots of hot water. Had a small kitchenette with crockery, cutlery, microwave, toaster, and jug. Good lighting in the room. The motel was well maintained even though it was older style building. It's not very noisy even though on the main road.

The motel room was well maintained and clean, the bed was comfy, the bathroom was spotless and everything was well maintained. The motel was booked out but I didn't hear a sound. The staff were extremely friendly and knowledgeable. The room was on the cheaper side of the motels available which made the stay even better! I would gladly stay again.

Very clean, modern room. Staff were lovely to deal with. The pub downstairs had great food. The room was quiet, and I had a desk to get my work done. Very comfortable bed. Overall, the perfect place to stay when in Bairnsdale - i'll be back next time!
