We loved this property. Cano Negro is less visited by tourists and the surrounding community was very friendly. The property has everything you need and the food was delicious - the owners are a lovely family and the staff truly cared about us and wanted us to have a great time Definitely recommend the bird watching boat tour, it was one of the highlights of our trip. We booked both the AM and PM boat trips are they visit different parts of the river, we saw so much wildlife despite visiting when the water level was peak high

Perfectly situated on the lagoon, this beautiful property is a great place to stay to visit Cano Negro. Really well run with care by Andrea and his team. We were the only guests during low season but I’m sure the experience would be good during peak times. The rooms are air conditioned which is huge in such a humid area. The food served is fantastic, made with fresh ingredients on their farm. The lagoon boat tour was the highlight where we got to see so many birds, reptiles, monkeys. Going during low season allowed us to be one of few people on the lagoon and the river.

Just about everything. Staff, especially the owner Oscar were great and hospitable. Rooms were basic but clean and comfy. Shower was very spacious. This place is one of those where you don't expect much but get pleasently surprised. If your path takes you to Los Chiles, this is your place.

Loved this cozy little hotel! We arrived too late in the afternoon to do any tubing, but we enjoyed a good meal and walk down to the river. Wonderful little getaway!

We saw amazing wildlife and many aquatic birds that we didn't see elsewhere in Costa Rica. We were there during the dry season so the rivers and lake were still there, but the lagoons were very shallow. Perfect for wading birds. Lots of caimans and other lizards. Our trip there gave us a different perspective on the fauns of the country.
