I stayed two days, which was my plan, but the weather was really bad. Lots of rain and wind. In decent weather, this would be a terrific city to explore. In the rain, I had to dodge into (beautiful) churches to keep dry, and to just make sure I wasn't out too much in the bad weather. But be aware that the famous column, for which Olomouc is so well known, is undergoing a complete renovation and is surrounded by scaffolding, so you can't see it. This won't be completed until 2027, unfortunately. But I found some good restaurants, and speaking a bit of Czech really helped me a lot. Only the young have English there.
Nice city, its possible to visit all historical places in one day if u r in hurry, if u want to enjoy the place, its perfect for 2-4 days of staying. Most of these places are closed to each other. Nice and friendly ppl, lovely food, lots of beer to choose from, amazing wine. And prices are really affordable.
Beautiful architecture and lots of historic sites. People are friendly and most shop and restaurant workers speak at least some English. Easy to get around and public transportation is free for anyone 65+!
AMAZING PLACE, LOTS TO SEE AND ADMIRE, FLORA OLOMOUC WHAT A PLACE TO GO TO THE ROSE GARDENS, ASTRONOMICAL CLOCK IS BETTER AND LONGER SHOW THAN IN PRAHA...MUST SEE THE ST MICHAELS CHURCH BEAUTIFULLY RESTORED, SAME AS ST VACLAV. UNFORTUNATELY THE HOLY TRINITY STATUE WAS IN RESTORATION TILL 2026, BUT STILL HEAPS TO VISIT
The town centre is stunning and I could have stayed longer exploring . Lots of history to learn about. Looks like plenty of good places to eat and drink. We didn’t have time to explore properly on our travels
Great, cute, old city, with a lot of interesting events around. I recommend you to come and listen for FREE the International Song Festival & Contest in Moravska Filharmonie that takes place in 1st decade of June. GREAT EXPERIENCE :)
