Located in a quiet area, at 5 minute walk from U-Bahn and 30 minutes walk from Central Station, next to the park where the Oktoberfest takes place, is good for those who want to explore Munchen. The room , equipped with coffee maker, minibar and tablet, was big, very clean and had a comfortable bed and firm pillows. Breakfast was good and very varied. The staff was friendly and ready to provide all the support the one I had. Thank you for the early breakfast which you arranged.

FAQs about hotels in Munich

Beyond Oktoberfest

Renowned for its stunning architecture and the world’s largest fair, Oktoberfest, Munich needs little introduction. Its vibrant cultural scene, great shopping and fantastic museums speak for themselves.

Munich has something for everyone: from historic palaces and castles, to stunning royal avenues to world class galleries and museums. Don't miss the new city hall in the heart of Marienplatz or the former residence of the Bavarian kings, the Residenz. Munich is also home to the world’s most famous beer hall, the Hofbräuhaus.

For great shopping, Karlsplatz is another commercial wonderland square that takes up much of the city centre and the upscale area around Maximilianstrasse. Munich is famous for its food too, so make sure you try the local Weißwurst, Leberkässemmeln and other popular pork dishes.

Thanks to efficient S-Bahn train, getting to the city centre from Germany’s second busiest airport, Munich International Airport is quick and easy. Whether you’re looking for luxury hotels, youth hostels or comfortable apartments, Booking.com has the perfect accommodation for your Munich visit.

    Munich is a lovely city.

Munich is a lovely city. The architecture and atmosphere met my expectations. I did an all day tour of Linderhof Palace, Neuschwanstein Castle and Hohenschwangau, it was like walking though a beautiful painting. I was visiting during Oktoberfest which you have to see to believe, it was amazing and the beer was wonderful. The classic and modern art museums are next to each other and have exceptional exhibits. I highly recommend a visit to Munich.

    Oktoberfest is a great experience.

Oktoberfest is a great experience. It's within walking distance of central Munich (the area close to the central transportation hub). It's very easy to get around Munich using the S-Bahn and U-Bahn systems. Use the S-Bahn to get to and from the airport. Good traditional German/Bavarian restaurants. Take a walking tour of the old city to see the sights and learn the history of the city. Unfortunately, we didn't have time to visit many of the attractions.

The Old Town Centre is the heartbeat of the city as far as tourists are concerned. The architecture is wonderful; the Rathaus (Town Hall) in particular is stunning but there are other gems easily found. I am not great with heights but I loved the views from the Rathaus spire, and there is a lift which takes you all the way to the top so access is not an issue. The open-air food market is a must, and the range of cheeses in particular is very impressive. German beers are rightly famous and did not disappoint, and the Bavarian food is hearty and very tasty. Eating out can be very expensive though, so it pays to shop around.

What a beautiful area with friendly people.

What a beautiful area with friendly people. My daughter and I loved walking around the shops, open markets and historical buildings. Octoberfest was also very festive, so vast, so incredibly decorated and sooo much fun. Hard to believe this was put together in 3 weeks time.

Munich has an excellent public transport system.

Munich has an excellent public transport system. My advice to travellers is to research the online information to see how you can embrace that transport as part of your Munich experience. There are plenty of historical buildings, parks, markets, commercial tours and self guided tours to enjoy. Lots of eateries - especially in the Undergound corridors but you can also find local food stores for shopping that helps the budget. Munich has problems, like all cities, and it was reassuring to see the police response to emergency situations and also their quiet presence in crowd situations. We felt safe at all times. We really enjoyed Munich and recommend a visit!

    Beautiful well run city.

Beautiful well run city. The older parts of the city are fascinating. Enjoy one of the most spectacular views of Munich from the tower of St. Peter. Located in the city center right next to Marienplatz and Viktualienmarkt, St. Peter is Munich's oldest parish church. You will need to be decent shape to climb the 14 stories, but the view is worth it. Take the city tour from Gray Line to see the major attractions if you are pressed for time. Public transportation is plentiful and affordable.

The hotel was in a good location, half way between the City centre and the Messe. A 10 minute taxi ride. Staff were friendly and helpful. Hotel room was decent size with modern facilities. Did not eat there but we used the bar which opens from 5pm. There was an area where you could purchase drinks and snacks out of hours. There was a small shopping area just around the corner from hotel where you could get food and coffee. If you visit Munich at the weekend please be aware that nothing opens on a Sunday...

Modern hotel close to the autobahn. On our way from the north of Germany to Italy, it was a great opportunity for us to stay overnight in Munich and travel onwards. We had no problem getting to the city centre using public transport. The bus stop is not far away. 2 bus lines run at 20 minute intervals. The room had everything we needed. Breakfast was satisfactory, a good option for getting some energy before travelling further afield.

We had a fantastic experience at this hotel. The facilities were excellent, and the breakfast was one of the best we've had, with a great variety of options. The location is also great, making it easy to get to the Munich city centre and explore the area.

Very clean and friendly hotel. Munich was busy when I visited. Staying outside the main city in a smaller hotel had its advantages - pleasant quiet location with a fast connection to the city centre and a comfortable place to stay.
