The property was like new. We stayed in the Waiting Room, a self contained suite. Bright, clean and had everything needed for a comfortable stay. Daryl, the host, lives on the property and is very responsive and friendly. The location is excellent. It’s right in the village of Lanchester, yet in a very quiet location.

The room was very spacious and clean with a nice ensuite. The facilities were great including a cosy bar, very good breakfast included and hairdryer and toiletries provided. Great location to get to Beamish Hall if you're staying for a wedding or event there.

olde world charm mixed with modern facilities but it was the people, both staff and customers, that made our stay memorable. Host Kerry demonstrated that nothing was too much trouble. Customers Joe, Davy and Graham provided interesting, and often hilarious, craic. A great range of beers in the bar and a sumptuous breakfast rounded off a great stay.

The Old Post Office was the perfect spot from which to head into Durham for the day, bus service very easy if you don't have a car. The local Italian restaurant was amazing and Keith, the owner of the B&B went above and beyond to make my stay easy and comfortable.
