We had a wonderful stay! The welcome was warm and the atmosphere was lovely from the moment we arrived. I want to especially thank the Egyptian gentleman at the reception (I didn’t catch his name), but he was so kind, patient, and made us feel very comfortable. My daughter was so happy with the place, and it added something really special to her graduation day. Thank you for being part of this beautiful memory for our family. Definitely recommend and will come back again!

Manchester has fallen victim to the plague of destruction...

Manchester has fallen victim to the plague of destruction that is sweeping through the UK currently under a Government that seems unwilling to stop the rot. I've been coming to the UK every year since 2003 and it's so sad to see this once beautiful and proud nation converted into Europes toilet. The only people that would disagree with that statement are the people who are destroying it. Britain and the UK , only exist as a memory on a distant page of a history book somewhere on a dusty shelf of a Library that nobody wants to know about.

Manchester is a good city due to its vibrant culture, rich history, and dynamic nightlife, combined with a more affordable cost of living compared to London. Nightlife: Manchester has a buzzing nightlife with options for every taste, from traditional clubs to the hipster bars and restaurants of the Northern Quarter. As someone who lived in Manchester for many years, it's a great city for music and entertainment, but the city centre is quite rough these days, especially Piccadilly Gardens and the main street next to it. Avoid those areas at all costs, particularly at night, as you will see 100% anti-social behaviour and worse.

Manchester city centre seemed clean and visitor friendly, plenty of street signs pointing to local attractions and a very good transport system. A bustling city with an amazing grouping of buildings young and old. We were visiting Bridgewater Hall (a truly fantastic concert venue) and found the Leonardo Hotel (opposite) to be an excellent choice. Plus, both were within easy walking distance from a main line railway system.

The Science and Industry Museum and the Art Gallery are...

The Science and Industry Museum and the Art Gallery are worth a visit. There are surprising pockets of history like Castlefield and Deansgate but they are hidden and need to be discovered. But overall the city is a hodge-podge of bad architecture including a lot of new tall towers placed senselessly throughout the city. The Chapel Street where the hotel is located is visually depressing - rundown buildings and dirty lanes wherever one looks. Obviously there seemed to be no city planning vision and willingness to keep the city clean. Streets are dirty, garbage all over especially in side streets and along the canals. Eating out is expensive for this type of city and 10 - 12.5% service charge is common. Trains station and airport are outdated and not up to snuff. But that is the reason for travelling to experience the unknown.

My fifth visit for six nights, everything was perfect. Luther King House is set in its own lovely grounds, has a residents car park, and is very quiet at night. Martin and James in the breakfast room give exceptional, friendly service with lots of local information. Great location for Manchester Airport, Curry Mile, and City Centre. The hotel is served by three nearby night buses, which are very helpful for a late night out in the city. Highly recommended for travellers on a budget who want value for money and a lovely atmosphere.
