This is an old-school inn, in the very best sense: spotless, lovely decor, in-house restaurant and even a lounge with a wood fire, where guests and visitors could have afternoon tea or evening ale. The staff to a one were hard working but very personable. Though the weather dampened my hopes for more hiking, it was always a warm respite I found returning to the Lodge.

We came to the area for a wedding, which was held at 14:00. This was before check-in time, however the staff managed to get our room ready in time for us to change and leave our things in the room. The next morning, breakfast was delicious, and all throughout the stay, all the staff were incredibly friendly. Cute setting and room as well, with a very comfortable bed! I would definitely return, given the opportunity!

You get a vibrant Cotswold town - what more do you want? Traffic in summer can be painfully slow. Do not rely on taxis as they are non-existent and so hard to get. For a night out I recommend a nominated driver in your party if you wish to go out of town.

Location was perfect. Walking distance to all the pubs, restaurants and shops in the gorgeous Cotswold village of Stow on the Wold. The house is delightful with cosy sitting room/large screen TV, 4 very comfortable bedrooms, well-equipped kitchen and the icing on the cake - a spacious hot tub which was very much enjoyed by all. Our generous hosts left us eggs, bread, milk and a bottle of wine which was certainly appreciated. We will be back!

This is a lovely, comfortable hotel right in the centre of Stow on the Wold. All staff were incredible and a credit to the family owners. Clearly, the staff enjoy working here. This was our second visit to the hotel, and we plan more visits in the future. There are many places to visit, all within a short drive. On this trip, we went to Burford, including the immense garden centre, Broadway, and the Slaughters. All worth a visit.

The room was clean and cosy and the en suite was spacious. There was a coffee machine and fridge in the room which was a nice addition. Great location as it's in the centre of Stow on the Wold with lots of options for food and drinks on the doorstep. We ate at The Bell which was lovely, really great meal and lovely staff.
