Very atmospheric place to stay, with lovely, cosy interior! The cottage has old (in a good way!) and traditional feel to it, with all of the modern comforts you might need. We stayed there in October, with the outside temperatures on the lower side, and inside was so lovely and warm! Additionally, working log burner added extra warmth and cosiness in the living area. Kim, whom I’ve liaised with regarding the cottage, was very nice and helpful throughout. The location was also fantastic, only short drive to Edinburgh and beautiful Pentland Hills reserve. I’d definitely visit again!

We were there to meet up with friends was ideal for a short visit and the area was handy for Biggar a couple of miles up the road which is very interesting Symington it’s self does not have much and the hotel is on a hill just off the main road

Symington is not somewhere you would rate. Staying in the hotel and visiting Symington would not normally occur in the same sentence i.e. while you might want to stay in the hotel you would never think of visiting Symington - there is nothing to see.

Nicola, our Receptionist, is both welcoming & efficient. A stunning setting with a dedication to provide a pristine environment. Good Parking. Large bedroom with en-suite shower - bathroom in excellent condition & all in working order. The Breakfast & Evening meal served in a large dinning room overlooking the well tendend gardens. The Lounge area looked so inviting, however, too tired to enjoy on this occasion - will definitely rebook this hotel.

Hotel set in beautiful grounds, room lovely and clean needs a rethink on needing a full lengh mirror and maybe a better idea of tea and coffee tray and kettle had to be picked up and moved to floor when needed to use dressing table, needs hooks or storage for towels in bathroom.
