In our second stay we got a smaller room, but more comfortable, clean with coffee making facilities in the room, shower gel in the bathroom. It's just perfect for a one night stay before the flight. Close to the airport (40min walk/ max 10min with bus), shops, pharmacy, restaurants in the neighborhood.

Cheap basic accommodation for 5 min drive to airport. Advertised hotel opposite-this doesn’t serve food. Better hotel was Lamb and Lion two blocks away-lovely. Fish and chips -walk around the corner or Kebab van opposite.

Takeley has nothing going for it at all apart from its...

Takeley has nothing going for it at all apart from its closeness to the airport. A number of industrial units but no place to get a breakfast. The roads in and around are lined with cars that have been parked there by people who have gone on holiday but don't want to use the exorbitant and overcrowded parking at the airport.

We arrived for 1 night stay , nobody there as we arrived Key was in key box and did not work , we went into the pub to ask for help to be told it was nothing to do with them but she would try to contact someone, a man came and finally opened our room and to say we were disappointed was an understatement , tiny , dark , dirty , soap dispensers were empty , bedding smelled We had to sleep with door unlocked in case we couldn't get out again ! Looked like door had been kicked previously.

I was DISGUSTED to find out that my cousin, who drove 5...

I was DISGUSTED to find out that my cousin, who drove 5 hours to drop us off at Takeley, was fined 100 pounds for "So Called Parking" at the hotel. He stayed long enough to stretch his legs and plan his trip back home. He was there a maximum of 5 to 10 minutes. This IS NOT how you treat guests who are dropped off. What was he supposed to do PARK IN THE STREET!!!! I Apart from things not working In our first room and we had to be changed, then we find out about this BS fine. There was no mention of parking fines on booking.com. I would NOT recommend this hotel and its money making scheme to anyone. You would NEVER be treated like this in Australia. We welcome tourists not fine their drivers. Extremely disappointed !!!! When someone goes out of their way to make sure we arrived safely and then are treated like this it makes me sick.

Avoid if you value your health and safety.

Avoid if you value your health and safety. This property is being mis sold. It doesn't even have fully functioning electric, no fridge, black mould, disgusting shower heads, filthy. Avoid had no electric to charge phone or for medical equipment. Place is a death trap. They have no idea about disability access, you can't even get in the rooms with a wheelchair never mind get into bed or use the shower and toilet

The bell was not working waiting long for someone to come at the door , asked if was staying for i night or 2 nights then was just put in a room without a lock was so scared the whole night I kept my eyes open

I don’t understand the low scores. It is budget accommodation but I guess people are happy to pay £50 but expect £150 Hilton Airport Hotel quality. This place is great value for money. it’s clean with good towels, clean white bed linen, quick check in. Good sized room with a fridge, central heating, tv, kettle and tea/coffee, comfortable bed, great wifi, and good hot shower. Multiple buses (333, 308, 42A) can be caught out front and go to the door of Stansted Airport in 5 minutes for £2.

Very convenient if you need to stay close to the airport. The hotel is basic but it does the job. Bed was comfortable enough. The receptionist was very friendly and helpful- he organised the taxi for me for 4am after I struggled to find one. He was wonderful. It's quite a basic facility, good to stay relatively cheaply for a short period of time.

Close to the airport, good place to stay for long stopover or early morning flight. The bus takes two pounds (2025) in one direction. Self check-in is easy, no problems with that. Clearly better value than airport hotels.
