We liked everything. The house is cozy and our room and bathroom were clean. Garden is also beautiful and the view from upstairs is fantastic. Host family is super friendly and the breakfasts and dinners are amazing. Great day hike options nearby.

Owner is very nice and friendly. He doesn’t know English but he still tries to communicate. He is very welcoming. The hotel is very clean, even the toilets. The view is amazing! Early morning, you can smell the good cooking.

The location and the Georgian food

Amazing view of the Usbah peaks.Beautiful valley at the end of September with all the autumn colours! Many good hikes nearby, although some of them are too long for a circle one-day hike.

During our two-week trip to Georgia, our stay in Mestia at Davit's home became one of the most unforgettable highlights. We were completely charmed by the room with the glass ceiling that opened up to the sky, and although the house was a bit outside the main town of Mestia, we decided to stay there — and it turned out to be one of the best decisions we made. It made our Mestia experience feel like a dream. We stayed in that room for two nights and were absolutely happy there, whether the weather was clear or rainy. On rainy days, when hiking wasn't an option, we slept in and enjoyed the peaceful view from our bed. On clear nights, we were lucky enough to lie in bed and count countless stars until we fell asleep. The bed was comfortable, and a small heater kept us warm through the cold mountain nights. As an eco-friendly home, we did occasionally spot small insects like ants, but it never felt uncomfortable — the bathroom was also spotless and clean. Before coming to Mestia, we had mostly stayed in hotels, so we hadn’t had many chances to interact with local Georgians. Staying at Davit’s home gave us a much more intimate and meaningful experience. His family was incredibly kind and welcoming — it truly felt like being at home. We were so grateful to have been a small part of a household spanning four generations, even just for a little while. It was a heartwarming and joyful time. I know that whenever I find myself overwhelmed by the busyness of daily life, I will think back to Davit’s home and the peaceful days we spent there. A stay at Davit's place is not just accommodation — it’s an experience of Georgia itself, a beautiful bridge between people and culture. Travelers who value local traditions and approach others with warmth and respect will undoubtedly love it here. Phenomenal stay, gorgeous mountain views, comfortable rooms, delicious food and generous hosts + We had a phenomenal stay at Gethauz afrasidze The property is beautiful and remote with gorgeous views of Mts. Ushba and Mazeri; the hosts were immensely generous, accommodating, and flexible and prepared one of the most delicious dinners we had in all of Georgia so we were fueled for long hikes in Svaneti. I’d highly recommend getauz afrasidze for the most idyllic and comfortable stay in Mazeri.

Beautiful little place with a view of the mountain range from the front. The property itself is very cosy and warm when it’s cold outside. The kitchen has everything necessary for a longer stay - we were there for 2 weeks. There are some good natured, cute stray animals around the area that may come to say hello, so if you miss your pets at home these guys can help bridge that gap
