As it’s built into the mountains, reasonable mobility is desirable, however it is disable friendly and the taxis are cheap, On site there are lots of steps and inclines to the facilities, as well as lifts, but I’m sure a persons needs could be accommodated to all the pools and restaurants. I’m 71 and managed to walk into town/star beach ok, enjoyed the exercise tbh! Overall the hotel is brilliant for families with children of all ages. I would go back for sure! The town is superb, so much choice for eating/drinking out, shopping good, usual touristy stuff! People are friendly and very helpful.Guest review bySue moUnited Kingdom - 10

The town has a lot to offer great food, bars, clubs. At night the town comes alive with lots to do and see. The cost of taxi rides are all the same and we stayed just outside at the Arminda hotel and spa (which was amazingly good). It's a great location to explore the island as the main road is a couple of miles away and this connects the island East to West. Amazing Resort and extensive facilities on site. Staff are amazing. Also one of the best mani/pedi I ever had at the salon. Resort is about 30 minutes from airport, and would say for a 5* Europe resort, this lives up to expectation, but don't compare to a 5* Caribbean or Mexico Resort, so bear that in mind. We stayed at the Ocean view room which had spectacular views. The Rocky beach was just fantastic with the lounges and beds, and considering how busy this resort is, never noticed it and never felt overcrowded, and you never had to reserve benches or lounges by the beach or pool, there was more than enough to go round and even more spare. A la Carte restaurants that were amazing and my favourites are Umi (Sushi), Azzuro (Italian), Thalassa for breakfast & lunch, Poseidon. A real let down of the restaurants was Nami, only delicious items were the Starters. Hersonissos is lively to many restaurants and bars. Having a car is an advantage as the best beaches and many restaurants recommended to us were not within walking distance. Best nearby restaurants were Areston and Avli. Skipper is reaonable on the restaurant strip. A bus service is available but we did not use it. Lots to do in Heraklion which can be reached by bus or car. We went to Agios Nikolaos and to Elounda. Good walks in both directions from the flatGuest review byMargaretUnited Kingdom

Lambros met us at 12 pm at night from a late flight which was much appreciated. The air conditioning was brilliant. Cleaned every day to a high standard by a lovely lady who gave me great advice on Crete. We loved the pool, bar and music during the day and when we had enough, we closed over the soundproof doors.
