I found service in Balatonfüred uneven. The low point was restaurant Il Lago at the lakefront: despite looking inviting, the service felt dismissive and the prices were high for what we received. As cyclists, we really liked the well-marked bike paths.
As cyclists, we really liked the well-marked bike paths. There is a beautiful promenade on the shore with stalls selling local products. You can rent a colorful boat to ride on the lake, or take a train for a half-hour ride around the city. There is always something going on on the promenade too. Balatonfured is a beautiful place on Lake Balaton.
Balatonfured is a beautiful place on Lake Balaton. The old town area was very impressive. Lots of big old villas and houses. with huge old shady trees. The port area was nice for strolling , lots of shops and restaurants, ferries departing to other parts of the lake. The strand stroll was wonderful , very scenic looking at the lake , lots of areas to sit , bike and walking paths. Lovely town with lots of flowers and trees, very clean, tidy and safe even in the evening. Not loud even in the evening was very quiet near the beach. Preferred Kisfaludy beach (strand). Very comfortable apartment, renovated and really clean. Cool design from the PRL era. There is everything you need from kitchen utensils to toilet paper. You can sit comfortably on the balcony, have breakfast and admire the view of the lake. Quiet area, closed parking. Close to the penny store. A bit of a walk to the beach (because of the hotels and resorts) but you can also drive there and park nearby. Thank you for great stay :)Guest review byAlinaPoland

The beautiful promenade of Balatonfured is just minutes away with fantastic views and restaurants nearby. The owner is super nice and helpful, and offered recommendations. The kitchen had all the appliances you need for a vacation next to the lake. We had parking on the premises which was very convenient. And we had AC in every bedroom!
