This stay was an unbelievable experience! The location was great, because you are really in nature and the river is right next to it. We went on a 2-day trek and it was incredible to see an Orang-Utan mother and her baby! The guides were very funny and kind, I felt really comfortable. Another highlight was the BBQ we did together with live acoustic guitar music. Also we made the village tour where I learned how Tufo is made and the locals were all the friendliest people. The WIFI was working fantastically. It was the perfect get-away from the busy city life. I will definitely come again, thanks for everything.

Came to jhony’s for two days trekking tour through the jungle and was an incredible experience, from the start seeing orangutans and many monkeys around , the five start hotel in the jungle for the first night was special and the next day rafting to coming back to our a accomodation in Bukit lawang was the perfect close . We had a great time at Sumatra Cheeky Monkeys! The property is beautiful and the owners, Sarah and Agus, make you feel at home from the minute you arrive. All of the staff were friendly and helpful, the rooms were clean and comfortable. Sarah assisted us in organising a 2 day 1 night jungle trek. The trek was amazing and we saw lots of animals including orangutans, monkeys, birds and a turtle. Our guide Tara was really experienced, informative and great company. Couldn’t recommend it enough!

Putra, his wife Maya and the other staff at EcoTourism made our stay a memorable one. Maya is an incredible cook and very accommodating. Putra took us on a half day jungle trek ending with tubing down the river and it was the highlight of our whole trip! The accommodation is about a 30/40 minute walk from town however it’s a nice walk!

Lovely spacious rooms with gorgeous balcony and view. Rooms were very clean with flushing toilets! Easy walk into town where there’s lots of restaurants and a supermarket. The owner and staff were lovely, friendly and very helpful. We felt very safe and welcome here. They cooked us lovely banana pancakes for breakfast and a lovely lunch.

This place has a wonderful view of the rice fields. It is very quite and a few km away from the main area so on the streets to reach the hotel you get to see how local people really live. The staff is very friendly and pro active they organized the trekking (we got to see two huge orangutan!!!) for us and all the transfers we needed. They speak English very well and they bring you with the bike wherever you want. The bungalow is lovely and clean. I would return for sure. Don’t miss it!
