It's in an excellent location right on the river in the quiet spot of bukit lawang but still only a short walk from where all the action is and if you don't wish to walk there is a taxi service very close by which will get you into town. The rooms are very nice and the food choices are good and there is soft drinks and beers available for those that wish. Also the garden area is very beautiful with a lot of wildflowers and butterflies flying around so it's a pleasure even just to sit on your balcony and enjoy the view

Very nice bungalows near the river where you can swimm! They organised a super 4 days Jungle Trek for our family with a really fantastic guide (Ponidi). He was just super nice with our kids, and very careful during the trek.

the location is incredible - gorgeous walks and opportunities to spot monkeys, lizards, bright butterflies - overlooking the river and jungle and with a private waterfall on the land. the staff were incredible and went out their way to help us, and were there to answer any question. We came with two year old twins who can be a handful and they made us feel extremely welcome, and helped lug and entertain the boys on the trek into the jungle to see the orangutans (we saw 4!)

Fantastic hotel, very friendly and helpful hotel team, great location. Rooms are tastefully decorated, bed is convenient. We have arranged the jungle tour through the hotel and everything about it was amazing: tour guide and the team, fruit snacks and tasty lunch, opportunity to see orangutans in their natural habitat as close as couple of meters away, great and sometimes quite challenging jungle walk and the highlight of the trip - tubing on the river. Highly recommend Orangutan hotel to everyone traveling to Bukit Lawang!

I stayed here and it exceeded all my expectations. The location is perfect, right in front of the river, offering beautiful views and a unique atmosphere. The owners are extremely hospitable, always attentive and ready to help with anything you need. I booked the orangutan tour with them in Gunung Leuser National Park, and it was a magical experience — well organized and safe. You can tell they know the area very well and care deeply about both visitors and nature. The accommodation’s restaurant is excellent: fresh, delicious food with great local options worth trying. Without a doubt, I would return here in a heartbeat.

The property is beautifully located at the edge of the national park (a 10/15min walk from the village through the forest where you can already spot some animals (we saw an orang-oetang on our walk to the village). The cottages are decent and have a lovely view. Here I ate one of the best banana pancakes out of 6 weeks in Indonesia. The jungle trek they organise is very good, and Ronny and Anto are an amazing guide and cook. We would very strongly recommend them! We did the three day trek and saw loads of orang-oetangs the first day and together with Ronny we decided to go more into the jungle the second day, to see more of nature and other wildlife. Ronny listened to what we wanted to get out of our time in the jungle, adapted his program throughout the day depending on this and was very knowledgeable and open to exchange thoughts and views beyond the jungle alone. The food Anto cooked was delicious! Overall the jungle trek with Ronny and Anto has been one of the best experiences in all of Indonesia and I would recommend everyone to book it with them!

Best to train up and be fit for jungle trekking as some...

Best to train up and be fit for jungle trekking as some climbs can be a bit steep. Also it's very hot and humid. If you wanna take good pictures, don't rely on mobile phones as you'll need to zoom in quite a bit with orang utans perched high up among the trees
