This guesthouse would be a great base for a few days walking in the Comeragh mountains. There is great comfort, food and welcome there after a long hike. We ate in Hanora's cottage and the food was excellent. Ballymacarbry is about 5km away.

A 200 year old property which is large and spacious and perfect for a family or group who don’t always want to be in each other’s ‘space’. Rooms to play, rest and eat . Two bathrooms with either shower or bath. Sleeping for 9. Baby gates at bottom and top of stairs give added confidence for child safety.

A very quiet area for those who enjoy nature and outdoor pursuits. Walking in mountains wonderful on well made paths. Cycling excellent. The air is intoxicating. You’d be fortunate to experience this haven

The food in Hanora's Cottage was delicious, the breakfast had the most enormous choice of freshly prepared/cooked dishes. The other guests were friendly without being overwhelming and the bed was very comfortable. There was a jacuzzi bath, but I didn't try it.

I would love to go back we have been twice and it's just amazing break away. Two nights is just too short. We even had thunder storms and wettest weather in ling time and wouldn't take away from the room and location. Only problem we had was the electric went out on the first night but we were just going to bed so messaged the owner in the morning and she was down to fix it straight away. Amazing hidden gem in Waterford would love to shout about it and at the same time keep it to ourselves as it's amazing break away

Lovely comfortable stay, Mary and staff were so welcoming and friendly. Massive double bed which was bliss after a long day site seeing. We booked our dinner on the first night and it was absolutely delicious. Breakfast was the best we've ever had in a hotel including five star places. . Such a pretty area with the small river running past and forests and mountains all around.

Very comfortable room and pleasant environment. The b&b.. (it's more like a very small hotel) is next to a lovely river. The breakfast is fantastic and the staff are friendly and helpful. you can do nice walks right from the property. And with a small drive up the hill, there's a lovely walk in the hills. Loads of interesting birds around

Would absolutely recommend Nire Valley Eco camp. A lovely location amongst nature and warm and friendly welcome from the host Ruth and her dogs. The homemade breakfast beats any hotel food hands down and the cabin was cozy and comfortable. Hope to be back again
