Leon and Gillian were just lovely! Very kind and nice people, we enjoyed chatting with them very much. They upgraded us to a bigger room for free. The continental breakfast was also great. The accommodation has a beautiful view, it is very peaceful and a great location for exploring the area. I wish we could have stayed there longer. The accommodation has a fully equipped kitchen that guests can use to prepare meals. Would recommend!

The Carrick Gate is just an all round great place. Located on the river right in town. So clean, newly refurbished, comfortable and excellent Continental breakfast with loads of choices. We were the only ones there being winter so it was lovely and quiet. We booked late and had a bit of delay making phone contact for the key, but that was fixed up quickly for us. We stayed one night and had everything we needed. The hosts were so lovely and accommodating, they even wrote us a list of recommendations to go see in the area and on our way out of the region. The breakfast was great. Beds weren’t super comfortable but for one night it was fine. Would definitely recommend

Glencolumbkille and Donegall was was marvellous.

Glencolumbkille and Donegall was was marvellous. BUT the B&B was really cold , damp and the bathroom not clean. The heating was not turned on in spite of 12 degrees. The landlord was South African and had none of the skills and welcoming attitudes of the Irish.

This accomodation is in the most wonderful part on Ireland and the hosts are happy to pass on their knowledge of the area. We had a great stay and the corner pub up the road has excellent evening meals.

Glen is a quiet place but has many interesting places, the...

Glen is a quiet place but has many interesting places, the beaches are really lovely, golden sand, clear water and quiet, there are also great walks all around. The folk village is well worth a visit (the café there serves lovely food) the pubs are friendly and the café on the main street serves nice food. Views are spectacular, there is a very good local woollen mill selling jumpers / jackets. The pilgrim route of St. Columba well worth investigating.

There are a range of activities available here, walking,...

There are a range of activities available here, walking, hiking, watersports and climbing which is what we were doing. There are several loop and direct walks in the vicinity along with a number of unusual places to visit including a neolithic site and a monument to a shipwreck (near An Port). There are a number of climbing opportunities in the area including bouldering, trad climbing and sea stack climbing. Choose a good guide and professional advice if you don't have experience as some locations can be dangerous if not approached with care.

Aras is a little gem in one of the most wild beautiful parts of Donegal. Leon and Gillian are wonderful hosts, nothing is too much trouble. Aras has everything you need at a more than reasonable price. Leon and Gillian actually made us feel very much at home. I will definitely be back.

Location was excellent, staff were helpful and informative, they arranged transport to other area of donegal, room was lovely with great view of sea and shower, tea, all other services were excellent also.
