We traveled with our little dog throughout Europe but the staff at Varese made us feel at home and fell in love with our dog named Leonardo which opened up our hearts for the staff and the hotel. We were just minutes away from visiting the famous "Villa Panza" and the famous collection of many of his Arts. a wonderful place with so much to do - the sacre monte, lots and lots of historic gardens, in walking distance the Villa Panza with amazing art and gardens - have lunch there it is fabulous. Despite traveling to Italy yearly, I had never visited Varese until now. I was initially hesitant to stay in Varese since I needed to be within an hour from Milan for the Salone del Mobile, but I was pleasantly surprised by the beauty of the city. Varese was vibrant both during the day and at night, with a plethora of excellent restaurants and cafes to explore. Its proximity to the stunning lakes of Como and Varese was also a huge plus. The sight of the snow-covered Alps provided a picturesque backdrop that made Varese even more special. The charming cobbled streets in the city center were lined with pretty buildings that showcased the history of the area. Although we only stayed for two days, I could have easily extended my stay for a week or more.Guest review byAna

Honestly it felt like home away from home. They had thought of many details, including small ones. The bottle of wine, tomato sauce and pasta definitely saved us from going out in the rain or ordering in. I liked the fact that living & kitchen area was separated by a door from the bedroom and bathroom area (we had a child with us too). Car was safely parked downstairs. The hotel breathes the spirit of a long-gone era. You can easily feel like living in a Thomas Mann novel. The views from the rooms over Lake Varese are breathtaking, the historic interior of the hotel has been beautifully preserved. The gardens with the elegant bar, the luxurious pool area, polite and well-mannered staff, the breakfast with view over the lake, this is all exceptional.
