Lovely staff. The rooms and amenities were fantastic. We had a private Onsen in our room which was the best experience for us. The dinner and breakfast was the best food we've had in Japan.

Best accommodation of our Japan trip. The staff are extremely nice, understanding and polite. The room is very clean and they would change the private onsen water daily if you would like so. The breakfast and dinner are excellent - tasty and huge portion. Will definitely stay at Fufu if we visit Hakone again.

The surrounding area is so beautiful.

The surrounding area is so beautiful. We wish we had more time to explore. Nice shops to find the local specialties. The Open Air Museum was fantastic! We wish we had more time to visit the other museums. The different food treats are a must to try.

It’s a beautiful place with a lot to offer I wish we had more time to visit all the towns and see more. I think 2-3 nights would have been better vs 1. Such incredible food and scenery!! Very easy to get around on the local trains and buses

Beautiful mountains.

Beautiful mountains. We mostly explored on foot and by tram and gondola. We did not get the impression we could reserve our parking space at the inn and there were very few, so we did not use the car during out stay. The pancake place by Gora Station was great. Friendly staff and delicious menu items. They were quick to give us a toddler bowl and cutlery for our little one.

Hakone is great but dont expect good weather , we couldnt see Fuji . Like so many other places on the tourist trail there are too many people there . Get off the trail , go to small towns and other islands , see a bit of real Japan rather than a crowd of tourists .

Hakone is a busy place but Rohen Ashinoko was quiet and cosy...

Hakone is a busy place but Rohen Ashinoko was quiet and cosy within a ten minute walk to the lake and all the attractions and restaurants/shops there. The staff are very welcoming and the breakfast and dinner were very good.

Hakone is a beautiful region with accessible transport with beautiful scenery and beautiful views of amount Fuji. The onsens are very relaxing. Food is great. Hakone Yumoto station area has many interesting shops. Getting here is easy via Romance express, just under 90mins from Shinjuku. The region had became very popular with tourists. Queues are long at cable car, rope ways and cruise boats. Pace yourselves to allow time to unwind as well as enjoy doing the touristy things.

It was an amazing stay at Yuyado Zen, two nights were perfect as we get to spend time exploring Hakone and also fully enjoy the onsen stay. It is near to Ubako Station where you can ride the ropeway to attractions like Owakudani and Lake Ashi. Hotel staffs were very helpful with directions and offer free pickup/drop off to bus station. The food and hospitality were just amazing, probably the best meals we had in Japan! The room was very well maintained, clean and spacious as well. Highly recommend!

The different options for onsen were great.we enjoyed the foot bath and the private onsen. There was a good range of snacks and drinks options. We took the half board options, which gave us good food and rest after a busy day at Gotemba premium outlet. The dinner had 1 small ala carte with a full buffet, inclusive of beer and umeshu. It was great. At check out, the hotel arranged for our luggage to be picked up and sent down to Hakone Yumoto station-leaving us to enjoy Hakone till almost 4pm.

The location is superb! Very near to Komagatake Ropeway. The Japanese style room with Mount Fuji and lake Ashi view was fantastic. The outdoor natural spring onsen was cheery on the top :) The staff is very helpful. One of our guests was vegetarian so the Roykan staff made arrangements for us to have dinner and breakfast at thier parent Prince hotel nearby. Overall, its a great Japanese hospitality experience at not too high or too low price.

The scenery surrounding the hotel was priceless. The calm, surreal and breathtaking view of the lake, which makes up for the distance that the hotel is located from the Hakone town (about 20 mins drive). Onsen was great, food was delicious and the staff were helpful. We (travelling with parents and 2 year-old) love our 2 night stays there!
