Good environment At night you can various animals sound because this is thick ungle area. Early morning you can vast typeof birds and their songs specially peacock. Our stay was really perfect. The hotel was one of the cleanest we had in Sri Lanka, the pool is awesome and invites for relaxed hours. The room and its equipment was also impeccable. We spontaneously prolonged our stay for one more night because we just loved it. Tharindu and the rest of the staff were super attentive and fulfilled every wish. The restaurant was also yummy and the prices were reasonable. They even gave us a free bottle of water for the onward journey. The organization of the full day safari was easy and we got to see elephants and leopards with our guide Dinuka. The guide was also very good as he was very experienced (one time he predicted the exact point of a leopard crossing the road). All in all: If we ever come back to Tissimaharama, we will definitely stay there again!

Excellent, exceptional care, near beautiful lake, where you can watch the birds, owner is very helpful, they also cook there. Short walk to town, small shop on the corner. Internet working well. They book you Safari tour so you do not have to worry about anything. Nice open space common area.

We enjoyed a wonderful four-nights-stay in Tissa as a point of departure to the nationalparks. From the start, our friendly host and his whole family made as feel welcome and indulged us with lovely welcome drinks, dishes, tips what to visit, where to have dinner. They organised all tours to three parks with pick ups in the mornings and packed lunch. Also our drivers there were perfectly chosen and made our days special while visiting elephants, eagles, sloth bears and leopards. The house is at a beautiful lake, you can relish breakfast with a view. Friendliness, service, cleanliness, Wifi, selection of fresh fruits and homemade local food like hoppers – all five stars!!!

The property was off the beaten track (but easy access to town by tuk tuk) so was lovely and quiet. The rooms were large and extremely clean and comfortable. The showers had hot water too. Mithila was such a fabulous host. Nothing was too much trouble and she was so friendly and approachable. Mithila organized our yala safari which was phenomenal. We had Nuwan as our driver and guide and he went above and beyond for us to have the best yala experience possible. He certainly made that happen as we saw so many animals including a leopard. We couldn’t recommend both the cabanas to stay and the safari highly enough! (We are a family of 2 adults and 3 children- 6, 7 and 9).

The guesthouse is located in a beautiful and location with panoramic views over rice fields. The city is within a short and beautiful walk. Our room was spacious, spotless and full of light. We could have one of our best sleep in Sri Lanka, thanks to the great beds, AC and barely any mosquitoes. You might find small bugs, but it’s something expected in a location in the nature. The breakfast and dinner were copious and delicious, with a few choices for dinner (rice and curry was spectacular) We organized a full day safari, the best have had so far in Sri Lanka (we have done 3 in total. Breakfast, lunch with curries and plenty of cold drinks and snacks were provided. The driver was gentle driver (drivers tent to be aggressive to find the best spot) and thanks to his sharp eye we could spot many animals: peacocks, water buffalos, families of deers, many birds and a magnificent leopard. We could also see a few elephant families with babies and younger elephants, so close we would have the impression we could touch them! It was an unforgettable experience for our family. The host went above and beyond to meet all our needs: safari, laundry, Tuk Tuk for a visit to the beach, a taxi service to our next destination… they even would buy us curd with honey as it’s a local specialty and we absolutely loved it! We would recommend this place without hesitation and we are looking forward to coming back in a future!
