As part of our Sri Lankan tour, we arrived on 07/07/2025, and from the moment we stepped into this peaceful retreat, we felt completely at home. We requested a guided hike, a nature walk, and an educational tour focused on the rich flora and fauna of the Knuckles region—and the team delivered beyond our expectations. Every experience was thoughtfully curated, offering the perfect balance of adventure and insight. The infinity pool with its breathtaking mountain views quickly became our favorite spot to relax. The authentic Sri Lankan meals were a true culinary delight, bursting with flavor and tradition. One of the most memorable evenings was spent by the crackling bonfire, enjoying a delicious BBQ dinner under the stars—pure magic! Thank you to the wonderful hosts at Royal Mountain Edge for creating such a warm, welcoming, and unforgettable experience. We left with full hearts, beautiful memories, and a deep appreciation for this hidden gem. Highly recommended to anyone looking for a peaceful escape into nature!

So peaceful!! This was a true highlight of our trip. The beds in the tents were soooo comfy, we ended up extending for two extra night. We went on a really great hike with our guide Banu too who was so knowledgeable, it really topped off the experience for us. If you’re looking for something off the tourist track and really in nature this is definitely the place to book.

By staying in this place you help the small community and villagers thrive. They might not speak English well but they went above and beyond to make us comfortable. I was truly impressed by their hospitality. The journey to the Infinity Pool and Doovili Ella Falls takes you through dense jungle, The Infinity Pool offers spectacular views, while Doovili Ella Falls is a captivating natural wonder. All worth the effort. This hut offers not just a place to stay, but an unforgettable experience that combines tranquility, adventure, and the raw beauty of Sri Lanka. Amazing Experience!

Rohana is the most friendly and helpful host you can imagine. He works together with the local community to give you the best experience in this rural and remote area. We had fantastic local food, local guide and explanation about the area. His facility offers the basics you need and is a good basis to explore the area.

Nice green surroundings, spacious apartment and the host makes delicious food. Reasonably close to the Knuckles Forest Reserve.

My recent stay at Simpson’s Forest – Luxury Boutique Resort & Spa in Kandy was, without a doubt, one of the most incredible experiences I’ve had in Sri Lanka. Nestled amidst the lush greenery of Meenawatta Estate, the resort is a true sanctuary for those seeking tranquility, natural beauty, and heartfelt hospitality. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with genuine warmth and care. A special thank you to Sachini (Front Office Executive) whose exceptional support throughout our stay made everything seamless. Her attention to detail and dedication to guest comfort truly elevated our entire experience. The design of the hotel strikes a perfect balance between elegance and nature. Surrounded by pristine landscapes, the property is immaculately maintained, with stunning gardens, flowering plants, and breathtaking mountain views in every direction. The air is fresh, the atmosphere peaceful—it’s the perfect escape from the busy world. One of the standout features of the resort is the infinity pool, offering a surreal experience as you swim above the forest canopy with panoramic views of the misty hills stretching endlessly beyond. I found myself returning to this spot every morning and evening—each moment more magical than the last. As part of their offering, the hotel provides a free guided tour around the surrounding area, which is a must. Walking through the tea gardens and forest paths, discovering the local flora and fauna, and soaking in the serene beauty of nature made me fall even more in love with this place. The restaurant deserves a five-star rating of its own. The food was consistently outstanding—fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Special thanks to Yatawara for his incredible hospitality and service. He went above and beyond to make each meal a delight, and his warmth made every dining experience feel personal and memorable.

The staff made my boyfriend’s birthday so special. We arrived by tuk tuk (after a few breakdowns) and they even fixed it for us. Turn down service was luxury and the massage was the best I’ve ever had. Once in a lifetime bliss for us and worth event penny. We also loved our waiter who loved rugby and cricket just like us, and took the time to really chat to us.

This was one the best hotels i stayed in my time in Sri Lanka. The staff was great and the owner even more so. I did a tour with him through the knuckle forest reserve and it was absolutely beautiful. He also knew a great deal about the places we went to and the local community. The hotel was clean, had a good vibe and the vieuw from my room was amazing. 2 other rooms where being built and he had plans to put in a pool. If this place gets known, its going to be packed with tourist. I would highly recommend this place and if i ever go to Sri Lanka again, this hotel is going to be at the top of my list.

⭐ (10/10) Fetnale Retreat was simply unforgettable. Set in the mountains and jungle, it had the most breathtaking views and a serene atmosphere. The service was the best we have ever experienced in any hotel, the food was exceptional, and the rooms were spotless, beautifully designed, and perfectly maintained. Our guided walk to the waterfall was a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Every detail was flawless—this is why it’s a perfect 10 from us.
