The appartement/studio is completely new and is situated in the north of La Gaulette. This is the perfect spot for a lot of advetures in the south of Mauritius. The appartement owner was available whenever we needed something. It was super clean, spacious, and we would definitely book again. The kitchen is fully equipped so its easy to cook yourself. Air conditioning is good.

Amazing, clean apartment with everything you need, not only to spend some time on holiday, but to live long term! It's like at home. Well equipped kitchen (kettle, stove, toaster, microwave, fridge, all the pots and plates and mugs, cups etc...) plus a lot of space (separate bedroom, living room (with small sofa) connected to kitchen, big bathroom with hot water, well washed towels, iron... Plus a big terrace with a beautiful view on the mountains. Birds flying around... The whole place was just perfectly clean. Zero mold, no dust, smells fresh. The bed, duvet and linen just fantastic! It's really close to the small mall (well stocked up supermarket, café and couple shops with clothes). The Wi-Fi was working real good. And the owner, Aneeshia, was really nice and helpful. 100% recommend!

Our stay at this penthouse was truly outstanding! The apartment is spacious, well-designed, and very comfortable. The highlight is definitely the breathtaking views — with the sea on one side and the mountains on the other, it feels like waking up in a postcard. It's a properly rustic paradise area, away from the more fabricated hotel resorts. Lots of locals who know one another and it feels safe, if a little rough around the edges. It has its own cultural and geographical charm that seems to differentiate it from other parts of Mauritius. Lots of places to eat, a good supermarket - seems expensive for the area, but I think this is quite common. Good offers of boat hire to get over to Ile aux Benitiers, which is well worth it. Close proximity to the lovely Morne peninsular and Black River Gorges National Park and surrounds.

La Gaulette does not have a beach and the sea there is ugly.

La Gaulette does not have a beach and the sea there is ugly. Le Morne (which is very close) is the only place nearby with a nice beach, but it is widely occupied by luxury hotels. another problem with La Gaulette is that it is not usable as a base for visiting Mauritius, becasue is far away from all main attractions except 7 color earth and Black River falls.

An ideal place to visit La Morne and surrounding areas without the crowds. Nearby supermarket for groceries and restaurants. We had a car which made travelling around easier and i would reccommend getting one when coming to Mauritius as you see so much more

Close to Le Morne and other attractions and places worth visiting, 90 min drive to Port Louis. Island is a paradise for botanical enthusiasts, hikers, climbers, fans of all sorts of water sports and beautiful reef fish, encounters with whales, dolphins etc.very friendly lovely locals and I felt very safe at all times, safer than in European many places. Please do book with local people, not all inclusive international resorts without local feel.

The clear water at the beach was exelent. The clearest seewater I have seen on the hole island! The surounding with the mountains are great. The beach is clean. No waist is liing around. Kite surfing ist also the place to be! Restaurant Chalets Chamarel has a great view. Hard to find. Food to expensive and not good!!

not a typical tourist destination. However, great spot for trips and quiet place to chill before trips around the island - which is pretty easy to travel around. Great choice for families and backpackers like myself

The stay was great, we were welcomed very warmly, the host was very helpful staying in touch via Whatsapp. Special thanks to the cleaning team - everything was very clean, so you could easily feel yourself as at home, the apartment had anything you can need, even electrical outlet adapter - there's literally EVERYTHING you may need during your stay. The apartment is spacious and cozy with the beautiful view from the balcony. It is just a great choice for any stay in the South-East of Mauritius.

big apartment, with everything you need. really nice furnished, and very clean. we were very happy about the french press in the kitchen. the roof top is also great with a really nice view. communication with the hosts were easy and fast, they were very helpful. every apartment has his own terrace or balcony. you need a car to get to le morne beach. At La Gaulette is no beach. but some nice restaurants and a big supermarket. and a lot of fruit stands.
