Ari Grand Hotel on Dhangethi Island exceeded all expectations during my recent stay. The friendly staff made me feel truly at home from the moment I arrived. The clean swimming pool and inviting garden sofas were perfect for relaxation and work. The spacious room, along with the unexpected upgrade to the Jacuzzi Suite, added a touch of luxury to my experience. Very nice resort, Nice people and also nice visitors. Mainly from Europe, few from other countries. Young and older people and all very decent. Villa's are brand new and great with great gardens. The outdoor bathroom is beautiful with many plants and trees. The beach is powder soft and white sand. The house reef is okay, not spectacular. There is a small diving school that does custom made trips. We saw a whale shark which is very rare but due to the great staff and persistence we found one and we snorkeled with it. Unbelievable experience. And during that trip we saw dolphins jumping twice! Every evening they spray the gardens against moscitoes. This not very pleasant (it smells) but on the other hand we were not bitten at all! We loved the pool biljart :)

I love that hotel so much! Everyone was so kind, when I arrived I got a t-shirt for free and the owner took me on snorkeling trip with Whaleshark, Mantas and Dolphins. They are so kind, because when I left my hotel I forgot my passport in my room. The staff was so quiuck and they called to my speed boat which turn back. If they weren’t so quick, I would have a big problem at airport. Thanks a lot and see you again!

Overall, all was great, best vacation we've had, wonderful honeymoon! Location was amazing, we got a sunset water villa with a jacuzzi, rays would swim around our stairs, it was 5 meters snorkeling to the reef. Food was awesome, varied, buffet style, we tried both all inclusive and full board. We found the latter more cost effective as we didn't drink that many coctails and water was included for all meals, plus tea/coffee/juice for breakfast. I highly recommend the candlelight dinner at the beach with grilled lobster. We had an amazing server, Shafan, who took excellent care of us for 3 hours. Best and most romantic dinner I've had, and I've had many! We spent nine days and always had plenty to do. We snorkeled every day. Vilamendhoo has a wonderful live reef. We saw a turtle, eagle and sting rays, sharks (I'm in general very wary of these creatures and had some apprehension coming in but these were cute and harmless), a muray eele, and all sorts of wonderful colorful fish. Bring a gopro camera! We took a full day trip looking for whale sharks, turtles, and manta rays. We missed the whale shark by about 15 minutes but swimming with manta rays was memorable. We did 5 our six snorkels with them, led by a great guide Haisham. Afterwards he was kind enough to send us cool pictures and a video from the day. The all inclusive package also includes a 30 minute photo shoot. We got some great pictures out of it, like a postcard, no filter. Other highlights included night snorkeling (we'll have to come back for fluo), windsurfing, seeing cool birds and orange fruit bats, as well as a free dinner at the Asian wok restaurant (part of the 5 day all inclusive package, great atmosphere and view, baby sharks have their meeting place under the restaurant). The villa was great, clean, and cleaned twice daily. There were no bugs in it and overall very few on the island.

It is a small enough island to walk around. The locals are extremely friendly - always saying hello. There are 3 restaurants all along the west coast. Compass seems most popular. But all are good with same offering of food. There is a fair amount of building going on at the moment as they gear up for more tourists. We used South Ari Dive for our diving trips. They are professional and friendly.

Great for diving but not so great for snorkeling.

Great for diving but not so great for snorkeling. The reef is very far out and at times the current was very strong. Prices for trips to see the whale sharks were quite expensive at 75 USD. And there were tons of other boats at the same spots - very zoo-like. Bikini beach, the only beach you can swim at in only your bathing suit is fairly shallow and windy. The better beach beside it requires you to be clothed. However, the local people are super nice and helpful.

The staff tries to keep it very clean. They are friendly and would help with anything. The food is varied and very rich. The massage therapists are at a very good level. I did not like the markup of goods in the only store. The ratio is ten times.

Firstly to clarify the resort is located in Theluveligaa, not Dhangethi. Theluveligaa is a small island, I was a solo traveller (mid 30s female) the water villa is amazing and the outside space is spacious with a lot of seating options. I hardly spent time on the beach. The resort itself is very quiet even when full. There are no motorised sports however you can kayak, snorkel and dive (you can get your licence there) and do other trips: Whale Sharks, Mantas, Turtles. The food options are good, drinks are expensive a juice will set you back $18 staff are friendly, especially the dive instructors (Julia & Ebu) and receptionist (Maria) I would definitely recommend this resort and felt safe on my own.

Quiet, lovely colourful houses, quite small but surrounded by other islands. Head for the jetty especially at sunset. Two recommended cafes/ restaurants: Compass with its verandah dining tables where you can watch rays and baby nurse sharks being fed at dusk - the maitre d’ - Sampath was charming and obliging and the food was amazing. Try also the Blue Moon Cafe with the equally charming Anup as maitre d’. Not much coral as the island is surrounded by sea grass

A beautiful location. with some good snorkeling, which is provided by "Mother Nature" not the resort. In all other respects the resort is poor to terrible. We paid £10,500 for 10 days A.I.P; party of 4 in two poorly maintained Jacuzzi water villas. (Not a Jacuzzi- brand name - a Sovereign Spa Hot tub.) Some services offered simply don't work, and management are fully aware of this but continue to advertise. Guests are treated with disdain and rudeness by client relations team/management who are not visible. Included trips - Sunset Punch / Dhangethi are an excuse to try and take some more cash from their guests. They offer only excuses...."we are on an island so it is difficult to.....(insert complaint here)" "All Inclusive MInus" is a better description of their package. Got much better service, food, accommodation and customer care in Mauritius/Zanzibar/Thailand/Florida/Dubai/Turkey/Madeira/Cyprus/ Marakech etc etc.

The staff at this hotel are very helpful, any problem you have they will help you, you will have their whats up number from the time you stay, and they will help you with any questions you have, they are very helpful people, the boy who prepares breakfast he is a man of millions who can cook whatever you want for a fair, low price, for example lunch, dinner, you can talk to him and he will cook whatever you want. It's a lot of work

It's a nice and quiet little hotel in the south near the bikini beach and my dive shop. The rooms were spacious, very clean and tidy👌They also provide beach towels! Wifi was very good and rooms had A/C and fan. Special thanks to Chandana who is extremely friendly, picked me up from the harbour, kept my room spotless and provided a nice continental breakfast every morning perfectly on time before diving 🙏

Tholal is an amazing host. Nothing is too much to ask and there are lots of facilities and services available. The kitchen, laundry machine, and snorkeling gear were all free to use. We can also really recommend Dhangethi as a hoiday destination The locals are all very friendly and the island provides many activities. It is probably one of the best places to book diving and whale spotting trips from!

We had a great 4 night stay at Raalhu Dhangethi. The room is spacious with lots of storage and comfy beds. Bathroom is clean with hot shower. Wifi works great. The owner is super helpfull in any way. He even organised a speedboat ferry for us when we were still in Malé airport. The location is great. You can walk everywhere. Shops and restaurants nearby. It is also very quiet.
