The credit of this wonderful experience goes greatly to the Host, Tracy, who stands out for being extremely friendly and hospitable. Tracy is undeniably one of the most warmhearted Hosts I’ve ever encountered. Her endearing hospitality made me feel welcomed and comfortable from the very moment I arrived. She eagerly offered assistance and guidance for local attractions, ensuring that I made the most of my stay. The room itself was cozy and inviting, with all the necessary amenities to provide a relaxing stay. The decor was well-thought-out, and the overall atmosphere made me feel right at home. It was evident that Tracy took great care to ensure every aspect of the guest experience was top-notch. Additionally, the breakfast was both delicious and abundant, serving as the perfect start to my day. Tracy ensured that the menu included a variety of options to cater to different dietary preferences, which I greatly appreciated. We had a wonderful stay at 200 on Lake view, at Lake Karapiro! The setting was peaceful and private, perfect for a relaxing getaway. The outdoor area overlooking the pool was a highlight—an ideal spot to unwind after exploring the Hobbiton Movie Set. Highly recommend for a tranquil retreat!

We enjoyed our stay at Kauri Lodge. Clean and tidy with every amenity we needed and nice and quiet. Easily sleep a big family. Shona was a great host, and we would not hesitate to recommend it to others

A great stopover point if travelling long distances in the north island. We usually stay in Hamilton, but Karapiro has beautiful scenery, peace and serenity and just a short drive from Cambridge for restaurants, shops and petrol.

There is nothing in Karapiro except some houses, a dam and a single cafe. I'm sure if you're into watersports it's great. We stayed two nights in order to visit the Hobbiton movie set, and that was enough Karapiro for us. Expect to drive to Cambridge at least once a day for dining or supplies whilst staying in Karapiro.

The country atmosphere was wonderful.

The country atmosphere was wonderful. We really enjoyed the modern facilities and the quietness after living in Auckland all our lives. Very relaxing and only 12 minutes drive into Matamata township and Hobbiton was only 7 kilometres away. We ate at Osteria Italian Restaurant. Magnificent food but slightly expensive. We had lunch at Ronnie’s Cafe. Always yummy and very reasonably priced
