This was a last minute book and we absolutely loved it! It was an absolutely perfect for our stay! The bed was super comfortable the tv was huge the kitchen was perfect! Super easy to get to close enough to town if you really wanted to walk (around half a mile to town).

It’s located nearby by Lake Tekapo which is the best. To top it, the unit has EVERYTHING you will need for your stay. I mean it when I say everything! There were toys for kids, step stool, rice cooker (which was very important for us) and of course all the other appliances you need to cook, cloth hanger (never expected that), washing machine, beach sandals, bug spray, charging extension cord. You name it and I am sure it’s there. Very thoughtfully equipped apartment. Loved it!

I have been Late Tekapo 3 times, it is more expensive than it was. My recommendation is, stargazing is the only reason to make you stay in Lake Tekapo. Otherwise you could find a better and less expensive accomodation nearby.

Lake Tekapo is a beautiful place to visit.

Lake Tekapo is a beautiful place to visit. The water is bright blue, and you can still see snowy mountains all around in October. The Church of the Good Shepherd is small but very famous and great for photos. At night, the stars are amazing because the sky is so clear. You can also enjoy walking around the small town and take in the breathtaking views from the top of Mt John. It’s a quiet and relaxing place — perfect for a short trip.

I adore Lake Tekapo. Views for days. Good hot pools. Peaceful. A decent serious hike up Mt John to the Observatory Cafe or an easier one up to Cowes Lookout, both with amazing views. I've been going for years - still small but a good supermarket now and more eateries. It is getting busier and pricey, both accommodation and eateries. On the road to Queenstown so an easy stopover. Go with a car if you can - a side trip into Aoraki Mt Cook and walks up the Hooker Valley are worth it.

Lake Tekapo will continue to be a place I will come back for...

Lake Tekapo will continue to be a place I will come back for my holidays and invite friends and family to join. In time, I believe it will be comparable to Wanaka, Queenstown but with more relaxing atmosphere. Hope to see more eateries / restaurants / fine dining in due course.

It is a perfect pit stop if anyone travelling from Christchuch to Wanaka. We picked our car at Christchurch airport & continued to Lake Tekapo (took around 3 - 3.5 hrs with multiple stops) and stayed here overnight. There are a few reasonable restaurants available close to the hotel in Lake Takepo and most of them close around 8.30 pm. Following next day morning we checked out & visited the famous Shepherd church & lake Tekapo which are next to each other & close to the village shop centre. It is a beautiful location with all the necessary arrangements & perfect pit stop as I said before.

Beautiful place for family and friends or individuals.

Beautiful place for family and friends or individuals. Not like Queenstown which gave me a city feeling and the traffic was like Auckland CBD. For people who look for nature, not shopping and plenty of eating, I would recommend Tekapo, but not Queenstown. I like the Chinese restaurant there and the Lakeview. Also very easy ro get around Tekapo.

Lovely boutique hotel with friendly staff and well equipped with all you could possibly need for a comfortable stay. We loved having the view of Lake Tekapo right from our window and the skylight window right from our bed so we could watch the stars in the night sky! Short walk to the supermarket/restaurants in the town and plenty of parking spaces. Delicious breakfast too - we had ours delivered to our room but you can have it in the restaurant area if you wish. Overall, a lovely boutique experience!

Location was perfect. Walking distance to town centre and the beach. The park was jam packed with tourists using cabins, caravan places and hostel facilities, however felt super private and peaceful. The room was spacious with fantastic views of lake tekapo. Kitchenette in the private cabins were great, cant cook in them, though the shared bbqs and kitchens are just outside the door.

The most expensive location I have booked in New Zealand, but also the best location. Must say that I could not find cheaper locations in Lake Tekapo that meets my requirements. Good bed, shower and kitchen. Everything was clean. Proactive communication and also a parking spot for the car.

Fabulous location on the edge of Lake Tekapo. Lovely clean and new backpackers accommodation. 4-bed dorm rooms very small but adequate. A little noisy with doors opening and closing in the corridors regularly. Good kitchen facilities and nice lounge area.
