United StatesThe place is gorgeous and it was an easy drive to see the tall and old trees!! Robin prepared dinner during two nights of our stay and she is an excellent chef!! The art gallery in town is lovely and serves a good breakfast. If heading to the area definitely book this place!!

Opononi and Omapere are two small seaside towns within a 5km stretch of the west coast of Northland, near the mouth of the Hokianga harbour. The scenery is stunning, but the accommodation and eating options are fairly limited.

I've used this accomodation many times.
I've used this accomodation many times. It's easy to book and is at a reasonable price. I know you need to book early or in advance IN THE HOLIDAYS and when events are on. I booked online from the opononi Pub once. I was lucky to get a room that was available at the time. That's why booking on line is just as good as ringing up. Ownership is changing in July I hope the new owners can maintain the previous owners standards. Always willing to support the accommodation.

We drove to the carpark & walked out to the Point. Lovely views. Spectacular Sand dunes. It was a stop over of 2 days so we could go & play GOLF. RAWENE. Easy to get around Opononi. We had 1 dinner at night at Sands Hotel. Very nice . Awesome staff. Went & had a meal & drink at Opononi Hotel. Staff lovely & helpful.

Rugged, natural, quiet & uncluttered beauty on the west coast.
You don’t go to Opononi/Omapere to shop, its the place to go when you want to find peace, harmony & spirituality.
If you want to get away to relax… this is the place to go!

Great spot, great views of the harbour where ever you stay.
Great spot, great views of the harbour where ever you stay. Nice restaurants, cafes and bars. Has a great little Four Square for shopping. Nearby is a great drive through the Waipoua Forest, visit the great Kauri tree Tane Mahuta - Tane Mahuta is the guardian of the forest and birds.

Very clean and well appointed property with a lovely homely touch. Stylish decor and comfortable beds. Large deck with fabulous views of the water, dunes and rolling hills. Private but with help on hand for any questions.
Easy to access Opononi by car and explore other parts of this spectacular region.
Definitely recommend.

We had a lovely stay at Wisteria Way! Bruce and Teresa were absolutely lovely and gave us some great destinations to visit as it was our first time staying in Waimamaku/Opononi. It was only an overnight stay, but we will definitely stay again when visiting the area :)

Beautiful room with a comfortable bed, spacious room and bathroom and comfortable chairs. Nice big TV. Plenty of parking even with 2 events. If you are looking for something more quiet check if there are any events on prior. Beautiful spot for an event.

Solo older female traveller. Felt comfortable going over to the hotel on my own. Barman was really friendly and put me at ease. Room was lovely. Stay was good and would go back. Free breakfast was a bonus.

Opononi Lighthouse is in an excellent location and whilst the room is very dated almost kitsch it is spotlessly clean. The owner is also a really lovely lady.
