Hotels near Carlton, MN

Nice basic slopeside cabin. Plenty of space for a small family. Beautiful views from the property. We enjoyed the wood burning stove. I was surprised to see the small fridge in the room. Mattresses were uncomfortable, fine for kids but really thin and no support. I would suggest bringing your own mattress topper and a comforter plus your own pillows! The radiant floor heat was nice. I was aware of the shared bathroom however it was a long walk (cabin 5) uphill, and there was not a designated pathway to be found. just grass and woods. If you struggle with walking a steep incline, you will want to request a cabin closer to the bathrooms or a different accommodation. You could walk to the road but there was still no pathway, just grass. The bathrooms were clean except for showers that were probably just used. Also I neglected to bring enough towels! Don't forget your towels. I'm not sure why "renting" some towels from the lodge is not an option. Pay a deposit and get it back when returning towels. Packing up wet towels is not ideal. We were there in October and all summer type activities had ended, it was quiet. I'm sure winter and summer are a completely different experience
