Great place for long hikes and challenging exercise.

Great place for long hikes and challenging exercise. Although not super high compared to French Alps, the mountains are pretty challenging. The region is really relaxing and a great place to rest from busy city life. Highly recommend to go on top of Big Slide which has magnificient views. If you are hiking in colder season, make sure to rent or buy a good pair of microspikes as they are absolutely necessary to hike on top of mountains. The high peaks information center was really friendly and gave very good information about conditions and required equipment. Make sure to visit them or call them before a hike.
