My son loves the big boats. Being able to check on the app or call the hot line as to weekday what ships were coming when made the stay even better. There's so much to see there that it made the stay even better.

The Soo is a border town and as such has the expected...

The Soo is a border town and as such has the expected industry/businesses that come with that. With that said, it has a nice downtown, plenty of sights to see, and is a great place to base out of if you want to explore the NE corner of UP.

The main attraction in Sault Ste.

The main attraction in Sault Ste. Marie is the Soo Locks, which are very interesting. You can take a boat tour and lock through. There are also some really good museums such as the Museum Ship Valley Camp. We spent two days there and it was just right.

We spent quite a bit of time on Portage Avenue.

We spent quite a bit of time on Portage Avenue. There were many restaurants to satisfy various tastes, whether it be breakfast, lunch or dinner. There were gift shops, an ice cream shop, the Soo Locks History Center. The Valley Camp Museum Ship is a must see! Watching multiple freighters go through the locks was great. Riding the Soo Locks tour boat through the MacArthur Lock and the surrounding area was quite enjoyable.

So much to see in the Soo.

So much to see in the Soo. Locals are friendly and the weather is usually comfortable in the summer. Many great places to eat along the Lockview is our favorite, but we discovered a couple of new ones we like as well.
