It feels like a resort! So beautiful, lots of great spaces, the breakfast was outstanding, the staff were delightful, the beds were private and comfortable, it’s very secure and the surroundings are safe… it was like a perfect hostel! I wish I could’ve stayed longer.

Casa Geranio is a hidden gem in the center of Rio. A B side, where you can see the city from another perspective. Away from tourists and massive chaos it seems like an oasis, where monkeys come to say hello while you are having your delicious breakfast. The deco - living room/dining room is very tasteful and gives you a feel of homely vibe. Food menu is limited but sufficient. Swimming pool is good size. You also have a game room to play a round of pool, or can retreat to sauna room to steam off all those caipirinhas. Staff (Pablo, Leo to name a few) are so hospital and professional. I was sick during my stay and their tentativeness (and the comfort of the hotel) certainly made the experience much more endurable. Hotel is also pretty close to main area of Santa Teresa by foot.
