This hotel turned out to be a hidden gem. Grat place. I like the design. Nothing special, but small original details show perfectionism towards details. For example, painting on the walls, in the elevator; great slogans put here and there; funny cover for the key card; wize arrangement of furniture and lights in the room; attractive colors of the lobby... Rooms are spacious, which is not so usual in Taiwan. Great location. You can use the elevator to access the metro station directly. The staff is friendly and the room is clean.

Even tho this location is right next to 徐汇square, a plaza with many stores and restaurants that filled with traffic, the hotel room is very quiet due to its excellent sound proofing feature. The hotel is near by a metro station and many restaurants that are walking distance. The staff was very nice. They let us store our luggage for one day when we visited near by city, and called a taxi for us when we departed. Highly recommended! I’ll come back the next time I’m in town.

I have stayed in quite a number of hotels, including 5-star hotels (I have lifetime elite status in a specific chain). The Evergreen Laurel hotel is easily the best among all the hotels I have stayed in. Every hotel I stayed in previously always have something that is not ideal but not this hotel. The beds are comfortable, room is brightly lit (which is a big plus and super rare), a lot of good amenities are provided in the room (increasingly rare in post-covid world), shower water pressure is good, the water temperature is easy to set and remains consistent and the sound-proofing is good - I did not hear any noise from my neighbors (the hotel is full). The location is fantastic as well - I stayed a total of 5 nights and every location I plan to go to is easily reached from the hotel, either by bus or metro. There are two metro stations nearby - Songjiang Nanjing on the green line and Zhongxiao Fuxing on the blue line. Both are within walking distance though the latter is slightly further. There are multiple convenience stores nearby, as well as a Watsons and a Carrefour supermarket. The famous Leechi is right next door. The housekeeping standard is impeccable as well. Oh ya there are also coin-operated washing and drying machines in the hotel. I will definitely be back again when I return to Taipei!
