Location is fantastic and Wallie adds immeasurable value to the trip. During our month long China trip, he was our only host and our travel arrangements in Zhangjiagie was made much easier because of him. And our furry friend guarding the front door was super cute and very loveable.

This is wonderful cozy hotel, the rooms are clean and have everything you need. Good location, close to all the attractions. Good breakfast. But the main diamond of this hotel is the assistant at the reception, whose name is Lee, very honest and nice person , we wanted to express our deep gratitude to him for his attention to us, for his help, advice and recommendations, without him our trip would not have been so comfortable. Thank you owner Chen and cleaning/cooking lady who made it feels like home.

First of all, the location: the house is situated just inside the Zhangjiajie Forest National Park, by the West Gate. If you plan to really see the Park, this is the best place to stay for sure since it does take a good hour from Zhangjiajie City to reach. Instead of getting up super early every day, we could easily just walk outside the house and wave for the bus to stop and let us on, then we’d drive maybe 5 minutes (if at all) and arrive at the cable car station. The facilities are amazing, too. The room was beautiful and nicely renovated and it even had one of those neat automatic toilets. The house had multiple seating areas outside, like a terrace and a pool (which was closed since it was the low season), but our absolute favorite was the patio by the river. It’s so peaceful and idyllic and really lets you appreciate the natural scenery. Secondly: the food! Delicious breakfast and dinner! Most importantly: our hosts! These people are the warmest, kindest, most gracious hosts I’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting. Especially Nihong. Our time in Zhangjiajie would not have been the same without her. She was our tour guide for the first two full days, showing us so much of the park we would have never seen otherwise. She took time out of her day for us for three straight days just to make sure we had the best possible experience. We learned so much about Tujia culture as well, which was so interesting. Her English is so good and she was always interested in learning more, and in turn she helped us learn a few Chinese words and phrases. And her husband drove us to the Railway Station when we had a very early train to catch, which was such a big help. We could not have been more lucky with these kind people! All in all, if you’re thinking of staying here, please do! You won’t regret it. We certainly hope we can return one day! Xiexie! Wo ai ni Zhangjiajie!

The staff is very friendly and supportive in every aspect. They helped us book the tickets for the Zhangjiajie National Park, explained the itinerary in detail and even drove us to the Park Entrance both the morning we visited. Excellent service provided for the price.

The property is situated close to Tianmen mountain but away from the busy streets, which we liked. The owners were lovely and welcoming. After checking out, we left our luggage there whilst we explored the area, which we appreciated. The owners offered to take us to the train station but we opted to get a taxi as we had some stop-offs to make on the way. The room was nice and clean, and the AC was amazing!! The breakfast was lovely, though my chopstick skills are woeful! The hotel seems to be family run and they are all so lovely.
