Beautiful house and a comfortable room. Very delicious breakfast, and super kind hosts. What I liked most was that the hosts give attention to small details.

The hotel has a real Mediterranean feel, and still, you feel in the middle of this picture-perfect part of Hungary. The croissants at breakfast are so yummy and in general the breakfast is very good. There are so many lovely spots in the garden to sit and read a book or enjoy a glass of wine. It is an adult only accommodation which guaranteed a relaxing time at the pool!

Spacious apartment and very comfortable. Staff is very friendly. The apartment is in the older building, the restaurant and wellness are approximately 300 meters walking from the apartment. Also there everything is very clean and nice. We have enjoyed our stay very much, with the lake and other landmarks at an acceptable driving distance!

The hosts were super welcoming and flexible. The room was confortable and clean. We were welcomed with wine and smiles and kindness, perfect.

Szem's Guesthouse quickly became one of our favorite places to stay. It’s genuinely one of the most comfortable accommodations we’ve ever experienced, and the sense of relaxation we felt there is something we can’t emphasize enough. What We Loved: - The house is located on a quiet street shaded by towering chestnut and pine trees, providing a peaceful and serene environment. - Parking is free and conveniently located on the street under the trees. - The house’s courtyard features stunning pathways lined with flowers, also shaded by the majestic chestnuts and pines, creating a tranquil outdoor space. - Each room opens up to large terraces furnished with tables, plants, and flowers — perfect for evening conversations with friends over a glass of wine. - This place is ideal for groups of families, with or without children; we can’t imagine a more relaxing spot. - For those who enjoy grilling, there’s a designated barbecue area that adds to the charm of this guesthouse. - The hosts were incredibly accommodating, allowing us to check in late due to traffic and providing an early check-out as well. - The house is just 300 meters from the lake and 200 meters from the town center, which is bustling with terraces offering delicious meals for all tastes and budgets (including the largest wienerschnitzel on the planet 🙂). Szem's Guesthouse offers a unique blend of comfort, hospitality, and natural beauty, making it a perfect retreat in Balatonszemes. Perfectly quiet neighbourhood, really kind staff going out of their way to make your stay comfortable. Breakfast had a great variety of sweet and savory things with a little local surprise every day.
