We had an exceptional stay at the Retro Hotel. The hotel has a really chill vibe, I had to work my 8 hour job remotely and I can say it is the best place I have worked from in SE Asia so far. The ladies were always refilling my glass of water and bringing me a bowl of fruit (free) like 3-4 times a day. The internet was very good and was able to handle my meetings. We booked the budget room. It is a bit small, but we were downstairs all day, where there are plenty of places to sit and relax. The room has no AC but you do have a mosquito net and fan so we slept like babies at night and the bed is big and comfortable. As a guest you have free kayaks and motorbike rental is $6 per day. The most important thing to mention is the food. So delicious and huge portions, prices around 4-6$ but really worth it. I recommend the chicken curry and padthai.

The guesthouse is vegan, vegetarian, and sustainable, making it perfect for those who are not just consumers but also care deeply about the environment, animals, sustainability, and local communities. The concept behind this guesthouse is both smart and meaningful. I truly enjoyed it and dined at their ground-floor restaurant for nearly all my meals; everything was incredibly delicious! They set up an account for meals, scooter rentals, and laundry, allowing you to pay by card (or cash) before checking out, which was extremely convenient. Located in a quiet, local area away from the bustling tourist and party zones, the guesthouse also features a fantastic rooftop viewpoint where you can order drinks and food from the kitchen below. It’s a great place to relax or practice yoga. My room boasted a spacious balcony, a writing desk, ample space for hanging and storing clothes, a fan, and air conditioning. Plus, the bathroom had refillable bottles of local organic shampoo and soap. Overall, it was an amazing experience. I also strongly suggest visiting Nibi Spa, which was mentioned on the guesthouse notice board. It features a sauna with a stunning view of the river. Additionally, swimming in the river was an absolute delight!

We loved Hidden Oasis for the super cute, very clean and comfortable bungalows and the wonderful couple who run it! It's exactly as pictured. Also the sheets were the softest we've had in Asia, and the beds nice and not hard like many places. The bathroom is larger than expected. There is a drinking water fountain you can refill at reception. We would highly recommend staying here in Kampot. The owners are super sweet and kind. We rented a motorbike from here and it made getting around easy. Pro tip: we went to nearby hotel Sokchea Kampot Hotel and were able to bargain to use their nice pool from $5 down to $3 per person, towels provided.

Their hospitality is beyond great, they're so genuine, helpful, incredibly kind and literally have the warmest heart! It realllyy felt like home! Oh and there's a nice rooftop with a bar as well, Mr. Leng makes the best cocktails!!! You guys are going to LOVE IT! I can't recommend this place enough

Dickens , the owner, was most helpful and polite. I thoroughly enjoyed my brief stay at Ta Eng Guesthouse and wish I had stayed there before. The location is in a quiet part of town and around a ten minute walk to the Durian roundabout. I would like to thank him for all the drinks he gave me as part of the Chinese New Year festivities !
