The Surf Lodge is beautifully decorated with a lot of love and taste. It offers amazing breakfast and a direct access to the beach. It is managed by the super kind Che who was always very attentive to help us organize a few things around the area. What we particularly loved about the hotel (apart from the amazing spacious rooms and the delicious (vegetarian) food) was that it is Che’s family home and has such a friendly and calming vibe :) it’s only a short walk to local restaurants and bars and Madiha’s main beach is also only a few minutes away. Thanks for having us :)

It is so peaceful and beautiful there! The outdoor swinging bed is heaven! The grounds are lovely and the pool is a perfect place to relax. When the tide is out, there's also a small beach. They offered to prepare fish for us on our first night- it was delicious!

This is the perfect place to be. The host is very attentive, the entire house is SPOTLESS CLEAN, the kitchen has everything you can imagine, including an oven! There is a washing machine you can use free of charge and they even provide washing powder. The room is new, the bed is comfy and the a/c and fan works perfectly. The bathroom is huge and has strong hot water pressure. The room features a cute balcony, desks, chairs and mosquito net, plugs by the bed. The propriety is located near the beach, away from the busy main road and has plenty of restaurant and shops around. Internet worked well. I highly recommend this to anyone coming to Mediha. We love it and can’t wait to go back!

The interior is new and high class. It looks modern with a touch of old money. The walls are very high which makes the room even more luxurious. The bed is very comfortable. The bathroom has a really spacious and modern shower as well as a big mirror and sink. Also, the cleanliness is great and we felt safe at all times. If you are into sports, there is a great sports area on the top floor with pilates mats. Also, there is a beautiful dinner and breakfast area on the top floor. Regarding service, the owner family is doing everything themselves. The service was outstanding. We felt like celebrities regarding private dinners which were very delicious and cooked for us only, regarding all our wishes. The dinners were booked on top but quite inexpensive and a true highlight for us. We also got morning juices and were allowed to the room quite some time before check in. All our wishes were fulfilled at all times. The owners are genuinely nice people. We really miss them after our stay. We are looking forward to come back!

First of all if you like a place that is quiet it is the place to go and nevertheless a walk of 5 minutes get you to the beach and plenty of restaurants . If you like to walk you are 15 minutes from the Main Street and 30 minutes from Matara. In Matara you can eat for 400 lkr on the beach is 1600 lkr and up.

We had such a lovely stay at Banyan Scape Villa, Matara. Mr. Suranga, the owner, is one of the nicest people you’ll meet — he genuinely knows how to make guests feel welcome. There’s also the sweetest dog on the property, which honestly just made the place feel even more comforting and full of good vibes. The place is right next to the beach and Food City and very convenient of travelling to any place nearby. The rooms are super clean, beautifully decorated, and everything, from the furniture to the fittings, works perfectly. The rooftop terrace has an incredible view of the forest and sea, and there’s a small hill with trees where you can relax with a drink in the evening, we did that every day! Breakfast was another highlight, homemade and absolutely delicious, prepared with care by Mr. Suranga’s wife. It really felt like staying at a friend’s beautiful home. Highly recommending Banyan Scape Villa, if you’re looking for calm, comfort, and a touch of natural beauty in Matara. We’ll definitely be coming back.
