This is without any doubt a five star hostel with a beautiful garden and a big swimming pool in a nice neighborhood with easy public transport to Joburg central . I loved the place. Staff and managers are kind, helpful. It looks exactly like the photos. Quiet. Drawers are good, so you can put everything in it.

Our stay with Lungi and his family was memorable ! Staying with them is like being part of their family for a short time. You get to experience historical Soweto as well as today’s reality, through the eyes of a local that lived through its history. The food, cooked by Cynthia, and shared with the hosts, was absolutely amazing. We did the 4-hour + lunch bicycle tour and it was super interesting. Lungi was very knowledgeable about Soweto’s history, but also very generous in sharing the untold stories of his city. Don’t miss out ! Oh and the room is perfect, spacious and very confortable.

The staff are very nice except for the white lady who did not care to get a key for the one room that was allocated to us. We slept for two days without a key, which is scary considering that Melville is one of the hot spots area in Johannesburg.
