[Obuse Guesthouse] is a cozy accommodation featuring three rooms housed in a historic Edo-era traditional Japanese house and storehouse, located right in the heart of Obuse.
During the Edo period, a man captivated by the natural beauty and culture of Obuse stayed here and painted every day. That man was Katsushika Hokusai, often referred to as "the most famous Japanese artist in the world."
[Obuse Guesthouse] is located just a three-minute walk from Hokusai’s atelier. The building has stood since the time when Hokusai himself strolled through the area during breaks in his creative work. Take your time to relax and reflect on the life and art of this legendary painter as you enjoy your stay.

Jigokudani Monkey Park (famous for the Snow Monkeys): About 1 hour by train and bus, or 40 minutes by car.
