It all started when I met my wife, Yudee, during my work in Nigeria, which eventually became our permanent base. In 2021, we initially planned to go on holiday to Kenya, but due to heavy rainfall, we opted for Zanzibar instead. At that time, I had just finished a significant logistical project for a Nigerian company, with the intention of returning there after our vacation. However, the project got postponed, and we faced a choice of going back or staying in Zanzibar. We decided to stay. Pingwe Beach. This beach is renowned for its unique and ever-changing beauty. The white powdery sand and the turquoise ocean, combined with the ebb and flow of tides, provide a constantly shifting landscape. From our hotel, we overlook the most photographed spot in Zanzibar, The Rock Restaurant in Michamvi, and the vast expanse of the Indian Ocean.

The location on Pingwe Beach offers a delightful setting with charming bars and restaurants. It's perfect for leisurely walks along the 1.5 km stretch of white sandy shoreline or invigorating morning runs. Around 5:00 am, the first fishermen venture out into the ocean, creating a picturesque scene. They return to the beach at 11:00 am, sometimes with a catch of tuna, squid, or barracuda. We purchase their fresh catch directly from them and prepare a delicious lunch or dinner. Situated across from the Rock Restaurant, you can enjoy the sight of tourists coming and going on boats during the afternoon. In the evening, there's a chance to witness a soccer game between the Maasai and the village. By 6:30-7:00 pm, darkness falls, and Pingwe Beach becomes wonderfully serene, which is one of the reasons we fell in love with it. You can safely explore the village, visit the supermarket, or purchase fresh fruits from the local vendors.
