The food was very good, they served a beautiful kaiseki meal that went on forever (it seemed). At the cafe, they served their house blend coffee called Mori-no-coffee which I enjoyed while sitting in one of their comfy chairs with an art book on my lap. The staff was courteous and nice too, it was truly a perfect day.

The old guy at reception was the sweetest guy. Said his English wasn’t great but did an awesome job of explaining everything to us. It was a quaint, modest place that felt very welcoming. We got to set up our own futon instead of staff coming in and doing it for us. We Really enjoyed the privacy and it was a fun experience. View was amazing. We had a smoking room, it didn’t smell of smoke at all. Dinner offered was not your typical Ryokan, it had options like spaghetti bolognese. I loved it here.
