The owner gave me all useful information before arrival and organized a safari with his own staff and vehicle for a good price. The dinner and breakfast were very tasty and copious. The hotel is very close from the wild life sanctuary entrance.

This place was absolutely amazing! The location couldn’t have been better. Right by the Safari entrance, and within minutes of arriving, we saw an elephant just across the road. It was such a cool experience. The facilities were top-notch and really well maintained. The pool was actually the perfect temperature, which is rare for hotels since they’re usually too cold. There’s also a restaurant on-site with a great selection of food. We highly recommend the Kothu! Plus, there’s a convenience store right next door in case you need any extra supplies. The rooms were beautiful with modern bathrooms, great hot water, and a lovely balcony view where we got to watch the sunset. What really made our stay special was the staff. The manager went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of, treating us like VIPs. The rest of the staff was just as helpful and friendly. Highly recommend this place if you’re visiting the area. We’d love to come back!

We stayed in the Delux apartment which was so good to have an extra room for our toddler to sleep in. The apartment was very spacious and it had a great view. Everything at the property was very clean and well maintained. We loved the pool, the food, coffee and friendly staff. We pre arranged a morning Safari through the Hotel and Lassa was our diver, he was a great driver and guide.

Go early in the morning, if possibly choose the 4 hour...

Go early in the morning, if possibly choose the 4 hour safari as this gives you time to really appreciate the landscape. We did two mornings and that was just perfect. On the second day we watched a crocodile try and steal a herons fish. We took our time and had a brilliant guide. Udawalawe is a quiet national park and it’s easy to loose the other jeeps and really appreciate the beauty and wildlife.

Make sure you get a good experienced guide who will show you...

Make sure you get a good experienced guide who will show you all over the park - a 7 hour trip is more likely to find leopards and will take you off the beaten track and away from the many other jeep tours. Also get your tickets on line - a good guide will do this for you and will save queuing for an hour or so.

stay in a locals b&b and book a tour with a local guide. we stayed in a familt b&b and had this most amazing safar in the park for 4hrs with the son of the family we stayed with.. its cost s £20 each and has been one of the best things we ever did. our guide didn't follow all the other trucks and we go to see amazing animals up close and all on our own.

Beautiful boutique hotel very near to the Udawalawe National Park. The rooms, and outside area are even nicer in person. Very friendly staff and they organised a great safari too. the 3 hour safari was great.

A nice place to stay if you plan on going into udawalawe national park. We did an early morning safari with the hotels driver and had a blast. Amazingly nice driver who knows his animals. Personal Highlight: seeing a one months old elephant 😌

Great base for safaris to Udawalawe National Park. The hotel arranged a fantastic safari tour and paired me with another solo traveler, cutting costs for both of us. The buffet dinner was excellent, and the modern rooms are huge. Outstanding value for money!

Absolutely fantastic place. For a more than a fair price you get SUPER clean rooms (travelled with family) and Gayan is a really great safari driver, knows all the spots and how to get everywhere first. Hotel is 1 min drive from the entrance of Udawalawe National Park. The breakfast prepared for the trip was delicious, nicely balanced. Oh, one more thing: lunch prepared for us after the safari was one of the best Sri Lankan food I’ve ever tried (and I’ve tried a lot). Thank you! Definitely recommend !!
