There is a fully equipped private bathroom with shower and free toiletries. This was my favorite part of my trip in Costa Rica. It is magical here and I hope I have that chance to visit again. My only regret is not staying longer. I had the breakfast one morning, which was lovely. The facilities are minimal. This is easily managed if planned for. There is no fridge in the little pod I stayed in, but there is a microwave. The microwave was enough for me to have a couple small meals. People have mentioned more counter space would be nice. I found it good enough. I had my things organized under the bed. Having the travel packing pods was useful. It is remote, and I suggest bringing in your own drinking water. I didn't get sick or anything, but as a precaution, that is my advice. There are lovely outdoor seating areas. I traveled with a small collapsible chair. It was great for this location, as well as when I visited beaches in other parts of the country. There are great knock off versions of the helinox chairs. If you bring one for your trip you won't regret it. This place is very special, and I offer these little tips so that you can enjoy this accommodation as much as I have. I cannot express enough how beautiful and magical the location is with the surrounding jungle covered mountains. For context. I am a solo female traveler. I felt very safe in this remote location. I had a suv rental from Adobe (very excellent car rental). I didn't need the 4wd, but had it been raining, then I likely would have used it a bit. Definitely need the high clearance on the vehicle. There was only 1 spot that required the clearance when i visited. I used the downhill assist when driving into the valley. That was very useful, and easier on the brakes. Driving back from Santa Elena in the dark was fine for me. Thank you to the hosts for having such beautiful and unique accommodations.

A terrace is available for guests at the lodge to use. Absolutely exceptional. If there was more than five stars to give them, we would definitely add a couple.

At the lodge guests are welcome to take advantage of a hot tub. Highly recommend this ''Little escape". Mike is a great host, super responsive and kind. The apartment is comfortable and stylish. Swimming pool is relaxing. We travelled with our baby and dog : it took us no time to fully embrace the lifestyle of little escape / Santa Teresa. Go for it!

Located 12 km from Alturas Wildlife Sanctuary, Cabinas Costa Tropicana offers an outdoor swimming pool, a garden and air-conditioned accommodation with a terrace and free WiFi.

Nauyaca Waterfalls is 28 km from the lodge. Everything was wonderful, we were in Costa Rica for 5 weeks and this was the best place so far. If I ever go back to Costa Rica I would definitely stay here again.

Tortuga is 2.4 km from the lodge, while Alturas Wildlife Sanctuary is 29 km away. This is like luxury camping, where the place is a mix between a tent and an apartment. We had a nice view of the mountains, which we enjoyed from our terrace with a hammock, and we cooked on the gas stove. It was so peaceful. My biggest fear was sleeping without air conditioning, but we slept well. The beds are comfortable, and the fan and fresh air were sufficient for good sleep.

Boasting free private parking, the lodge is in an area where guests can engage in activities such as hiking, fishing and snorkelling. This was exactly what I was looking for. Something deeper in the jungle yet close to Uvita and the coast. Just the peace and quiet and closeness to Nature I needed. And the cabin has no glass windows, just screens, so you can hear the music of the jungle very clearly. Nights were spectacular. I loved falling asleep to the symphony of the the surrounding wilderness and waking up to the sounds of roosters and howler monkeys (: The property has access to a river and mini waterfall which was very tranquil and serene. The drive to the cabin was a fun little adventure in itself and 4x4 is recommended. The hill that leads down to the cabin is ultra steep but you have the option to park atop the hill and walk down which is a short jaunt. The host, Wouter, was amazingly attentive, personable, and chill. He would always respond to my questions/ messages quickly. You could not ask for a better host. I can recommend Loft del Rio with total confidence and rate it a perfect 10. If you are looking to experience an immersive jungle experience that is also close to the coast, this is it.

Treetopia Park is 5 km from the lodge, while Selvatura Adventure Park is 7.1 km from the property. Fortuna Airport is 86 km away. We loved the beautiful forest surroundings around our treehouse! Although we knew there were other treehouses close by, giving us a sense of security, our view from our treehouse itself was total jungle, giving us a private jungle vibe with no other treehouses or buildings within view of us. It was such a cool experience! We were lucky to have 2 sunny mornings so we woke up slowly, lying in bed, enjoying the dappled sunlight peaking through our jungle view from the vast windows. I loved Monteverde and hope to go back and when I do, I'll stay here again!

Guests at the lodge can enjoy a continental breakfast. Finca Terra Viva was marvelous! The property was spectacular, nestled in a valley and spanning up the hills on either side. It’s close enough to town that we were comfortable driving back and forth after dark, and far enough away that we didn’t have any of the light or noise (what little of it Santa Elena generates). Gaudy was warm and welcoming, offered excellent t recommendations, and is so committed to sustainable practices. It was just gorgeous - stunning and serene. We walked the trails, followed the birds, and fed 2-day-old calves! It is a working farm, and we woke with the sun (and cows and roosters) each day, but loved it. Some of the transport for local attractions will pick you up there, and others will ask you to meet them at a nearby intersection. Between the views, the air, the location, and the comfort of the casitas, we hated to leave.

Very cosy and secluded place, gorgeous garden, the best food we’ve had in Costa Rica - delicious and gourmet. The staff was very friendly and with great recommendations about attractions in the area. The pool looked good, but it was raining, so we didn’t try it. The room had a small kitchenette and this is the only place in Vista Rica, where we had kettle to make tea- everywhere else only coffee makers .
