This is one of our favourite hotels in Sri Lanka. The layout of the gardens, between the sea and the lagoon, is magnificent. Geoffrey Bawa chose this spot very carefully and the new wings have been integrated well. Even if there are many guests, you can still retain a certain privacy because the grounds are so extensive. We particularly enjoyed a curated tour by Sanduni de Fonseka who has specialised in the work of the Bawa brothers and the art works on display - by, amongst others, Laki Senanayake and Barbara Sansoni. High-quality food. We have been to this hotel several times, and our overall experience, as always, was excellent.

A very cute property in Bentota. The resort is really amazing, worth staying. The beach is just a small walk away, crossing the rail path- which gives another wonderful experience. The food is simply amazing.. The best we had in our trip to Sri Lanka. Special mention to the wonderful Chef and all the staff for the wonderful hospitality

The staff was the most outstanding „feature“ of this hotel. Always kind and helpful and with a personal touch. For example you mention that you prefer vegan food and you don’t have to ask anymore. Everybody is aware of it and you can be assure that you get served only vegan food. The food and especially the breakfast were exceptional good and prepared with love and care. We felt ourselves more then welcomed! The hotel and rooms are designed very tastefully with all the amenities which you expect in a hotel of this class. The rooms have a great view and everything was spotless clean.

Everything - if you want a 5 star all inclusive this is your place. The property is large enough that you don’t realise how many people are there - until you queue for ice cream of course! We only stayed for 2 nights to end our tour and it was nice to end in clean luxury. We didn’t visit the beach but it looked nice. Swimming pools were big and enough space to enjoy family time. Adults only pool was also nice with the swim up bar. Good food spread, particularly the fresh fish/meat on offer at every meal.

After a very stressful few months this was the most perfect hotel to come to and relax. Wonderful location, beautiful pool, excellent but discreet service and fantastic food. Our wonderful butler, Prabhath, took care of our every need and truly enhanced the holiday. We would highly recommend this hotel.

A hidden gem right at Bentota Beach. It feels like not a hotel, but your billionaire friend gave you the keys to his luxurious oceanside mansion for the holidays and asked his staff to treat you like a Royal family member. Everything is Immaculate. From homemade sorbet on arrival to the stunning restaurant where the chef will cook for you personally, from a manicured garden to private sun lounges set on request just for you on the beach. Amazing experience! Thank you for having us in The Long House! We will definitely return!

The location is stunning, staff exceptionally attentive and eager to assist in every way. Our bulter Dinesh was outstanding. We were 1/2 board and the evening meal selection and variety was superb. A 4+ course meal each evening of small but really tasty portions. The views along both sides of Bentota beach are so beautiful, I could daydream there all day!!

The location is 5 star - right on a beautiful beach with a nice pool area on one side and a river on the other side, green and lush. The restaurant service was great with a large delicious buffet - big thanks to all the chefs who did miracle and staff who pulled it off despite shortages of various ingredients and difficult economic situation in the country at the moment. 5 stars for that (but that’s about it..)
