Everything in Yunoshimakan was just perfect! This ryokan has welcomed Japanese Emperors before, it is filled with a spirit of history, and one can feel like a genuine aristocrat when staying at Yunoshimakan. Kaiseki dinner is served for each guest (or a group of guests when staying together) in a separate room. Breakfast is served for all the guests in one big hall. The cuisine was way beyond my expectations as well as the onsen. The ryokan has an exhibition of some artefacts from the past times. It has several rooms for the public use to relax: you can play chess or sing karaoke sipping a drink. Not only you can enjoy two outstanding onsen during the day (the onsen for men and women switch places once a day) - there is also a foot bath in the ryokan which was also lovely. You can reach Yunoshimakan on foot from the station or take a ryokan shuttle that runs regularly.

Aki is a very kind and helpful host :) Love the traditional Japanese house . It is so beautiful surrounding the trees and farm . And you can see the train outside the house and shrine next to the house.It is very calm and relaxing staying this place !The dinner and breakfast is amazing and delicious! There is virtually nothing to dislike about Suimeikan. Every aspect of the stay was exceptional. Gero Onsen is the perfect wind down to a long trip through Japan, and it's made all the better at Suimeikan. From check-in, the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The man who guided us to our room was unbelievably kind and genuine, as were the receptionists. The English level of all the staff I encountered was immaculate, making all aspects of the stay succinct and efficient. The facilities are amazing, nothing beats an onsen, and this place has three. All providing a unique take on the concept, with a panoramic view on the top of the middle building, an outdoor bath, and a full great bath with two hot baths a cold pool and a sauna, you won't find a bath that doesn't please. The on-site restaurants are utterly divine, providing some of the best food I've had the pleasure of eating in Japan. The rooms are stunning and clean, with beautiful smelling tatami and lovely bathrooms you won't have an uncomfortable time here. All in all, Suimeikan is a truly stunning place to spend a night or more in Gero, I can wholeheartedly recommend! So what are you waiting for? Get booking!

Large room. Not so expensive as compared to other surrounding hotels. About five-minute drive to Gero Centre where you can find a few 24 hours convenient stores. With free parking, it's a very convenient place when you've got a car.

It was a nice and spacious compound, with a nice garden overseeing the river and even a foot bath outside for you to enjoy the cool air and soak your feet. The room was big we also had the room overlooking the town of Gero. Very pretty scenery! There was also a large parking available. We had dinner and breakfast and were impressed by both meals too.

Location is easy to access with free parking at a short walking distance away. Nearby has restaurants and Lawsons. I chat with the hotel via the app on enquires on dinner venue, response was fast and easy to understand. There are staff who can speak mandarin which is a bonus! Overall is a small, beautiful, new hotel. Worth recommending

Great location at the top of town. Convenient for town and sightseeing. Parking is great. Staff were very nice and polite. Hotel is quite new and check-in was straight forward. Room was very nice and mostly very clean. Breakfast was collected from reception and eaten in the room which was soup and a couple of other goodies - very pleasant. Tea and coffee facilities were in the corridor and easy to use. There was a lovely little garden you could use if you wanted to.

The outdoor male onsen was incredible. It was raining and I didn’t expect soaking in the rain is so therapeutic. It must have been more wonderful during spring or autumn with the impressive foliage as your view. The overall facility was great and parking space was plenty too.
