We had a lovely stay at Jay’s. He is a great host and his sister is an excellent chef. They made us a great dinner and breakfast with vegetables from their own garden. We often read ‘the best curry’ in many reviews, but I can truly say that this where the best meals we had during our trip in Sri Lanka (and we had many good meals).

Perfect and peaceful location, with really helpful and kind staff. They also have the smartest and most lovely dog I have seen. Totally recommended. In order to go to the apartment don’t follow Google maps, ask the locals at the villages as you pass by.

We loved our stay at Paradise Forest Garden! It’s a little off the beaten track, but well worth it for the cosy, boutique-style atmosphere that feels more like a homestay. The staff were incredibly attentive, making our experience even more special. The pool overlooks the mountains, creating one of the most breathtaking backdrops I’ve seen. Our room was spacious and comfortable, with a lovely hot shower and great water pressure. The real highlight was the staff—so friendly, attentive, and genuinely interested in making our stay perfect. We enjoyed the delicious breakfasts and the amazing, varied dinners prepared by a talented in-house chef. Nothing was too much trouble! A few sun loungers by the pool would have been nice (as there are only chairs or grass), but otherwise, it was perfect! This isn’t ideal for those just passing through or using their room as a base, as dinner each evening seems to be expected. It was perfect for us, but if you plan to be out all day or prefer to eat elsewhere, this may not be the best fit. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

I loved everything, especially the owners, Pearl and Ranjan. They treated us like their own children—they are truly wonderful people. The breakfast was delicious; Pearl is an amazing cook, and Ranjan joined us for a walk around the area. If we ever return to Matale, this will undoubtedly be our stop again. Thank you for everything. We had a wonderful stay at the Ecovillage. The room was comfortable, the food was excellent, the staff were very friendly & the views were amazing! We did the temple hike and although it was overcast, rainy & misty so we didn’t have a great view from the top, it was lovely to just be in the jungle. We loved that the eco village employs local people, it is an eco-friendly and ethical place to stay, highly recommend

Everything ! The room as incredible, the food (vegan) was soooo good, the surrounding of the organic farm were so relaxing but the staff !! Wow ! Honestly they were so beautiful! Pradeep and Dishan were amazing !!!

I had an amazing stay! The place has such a peaceful vibe, surrounded by nature. The villa was clean and comfortable, and my favourite feature was the inner courtyard, which made me feel so connected to nature. The tree hut was the perfect nook for reading, and the staff even arranged one of our dinners there. We were also able to experience a well bath - such a one of a kind experience! The staff were incredibly attentive, always making sure everything went smoothly. The food was delicious and full of local flavours. Loved the soothing sound of birds in the morning. Highly recommend to anyone visiting Dambulla who’s looking for a relaxing and authentic Sri Lankan experience.

The breakfast and dinner were very delicious and there was a large selection. Ian is an excellent cook 😀. The room with a window like a triangle was very special, it had a comfortable bed and an extraordinary view. Supun and Ian, who operate the resort, are very friendly and nice hosts. Supun also helped us to see the beautiful nature there, nice ricefields and unfortunately Riverston in mist. We want to return if it's possible
