The hotel itself is a historic building, and you can even find a commemorative plaque that shares the history of the place, which added a special charm to our visit. The staff were extremely kind and attentive. We were traveling with a child, and they always went out of their way to meet the needs of the youngest member of our family. We were also pleasantly surprised with a room upgrade — a special thanks for that! The upgraded room was large and comfortable, with plenty of space for the three of us, a bathtub and shower, and a balcony offering breathtaking views of the lake. Breakfast was very diverse, with enough options to satisfy even the pickiest eater. But what really deserves special praise were the dinners at the hotel’s restaurant — every single one was absolutely outstanding. I can wholeheartedly recommend this hotel. Also you can charge your electric car, the staff can help you with that. The Hotel is almost next to the town, you can access it by walk or even with a Tier or some scooter. Receptionist and the staff were very helpfull and kind. The room was nice, and clean, with proper equipment. The pool and sauna also great. Breakfast has a lot of options, and wide variety of stuff. Gluten intolerance people can have a nice breakfast too. Dinner is from the menu, not swedish style so it will take more time to serve you. We caught the train from Pritswich to Portschach which was a very short journey. Their timetables at the station/collection points are so easy to understand. Portschach is a very picturesque place. The houses looked very clean adorned with flowers, very tidy streets. People are very friendly and the majority spoke English. The food was delicious especially the cakes. There was a park area which took you down to the lake. Also a play area for children. I might be biased, I was born in Spittal an der Drau, but the town has certainly some charm on it's own. The staff was great and the room was very comfortable. Fast wi-fi and slippers and robe in the room. Parking was free and just outside the hotel. There is no elevator if you are on upper floors. The whole area of Worthersee lake is worth visiting. It offers a lot of activities for all (tourism, cycling, swimming, water activities). We visited in December, over New Years. Seeboden is well located to reach lots of hiking trials after only a few mins car drive (or bus). The ski area Goldeck is also only 15-20mins away by car. Shops, hotels and restaurants are all in walking distance. The view from the lake shore is beautiful and calming. We ate most of the time in our hotel, Moserhof, because we liked their food a lot. Once we ventured out to Postwirt and again we liked it so much that we went back another time. Great food for decent money. And the service really surprised us in both places. Not sure I would spend much time on the lake TBH - one day is enough to walk around (about 10-11km) and a lot of that is on roads as the waterfront has many private homes.
