Staff went above and beyond. I had a late evening flight so they let me check out a bit late at no charge, held my bags all day, and also let me spend time in the beautiful lounge in the afternoon before my flight. Gorgeous rooms, really kind staff, 10/10 recommend.

For the best shopping, restaurants, pubs, cafes and bars all...

For the best shopping, restaurants, pubs, cafes and bars all in a 30-minute walk, stay in Paddington and/or Woollahra. Old-fashioned pubs (The Paddo Inn, The Village Inn, The Woollahra Hotel) or sushi, gourmet supermarkets or foodie bakeries - you can also take home outstanding Italian to cook in your Air BnB at Barbetta. Berkelouw Books in Paddington is a huge modern/secondhand book paradise with a cafe and at the Woollahra end of the 30-minute walk you'll find Jo Malone. If you want to go home with bags of great vintage shoes and a ton of photographs of wow-factor food (and good pub memories) this is where you stay in Sydney. Oh, and the Oxford Street 333 bus in Paddington takes you to Bondi Beach. For picnics, Centennial Park on the Paddington/Woollahra border is fantastic. Buy all the food in Woollahra and go.

There's no parking!! Streets are packed with cars. Pedestrian crossings every few metres - ridiculous!! Plus they hold up traffic. We didn't know about Nelson Bay and surrounding areas - next time we'll stay there instead of in the heart of Newcastle.

Byron Bay is one of Australia’s most beloved holiday destinations, known for its laid-back charm and natural beauty. Surrounded by stunning beaches, lush hinterland, and crystal-clear waters, it’s perfect for swimming, surfing, and relaxing in the sun. The town has a vibrant, welcoming atmosphere with boutique shops, organic cafés, and an active arts and music scene. Visitors can enjoy breathtaking coastal walks to the famous Cape Byron Lighthouse, where dolphins and whales are often spotted. The nearby rainforests and waterfalls offer peaceful escapes into nature, while the markets and festivals celebrate creativity and community. Whether you’re after adventure, wellness, or simply a slower pace of life, Byron Bay offers the ideal balance of relaxation, style, and unforgettable coastal charm.

We did not have much time in Coffs Harbour. Only one night. We have driven through Coffs Harbour numerous times and have only stayed there once before this stay, which was in 1991 at Opal Cove when our children were young. We were pleasantly surprised with the location of our stay at Ocean Park Apartments this time.

Room was suitable for one night.

Room was suitable for one night. Clean tidy and tea and coffee provided. Fridge etc. Bed was comfy.Bedd8ng and towels clean and fresh. View was of car ppark.so nothing nice about that. Poolwas grotty looking and water looked murky and on the front so you only had cars to watch zooming up the rd..we didn't use it as very disappointed with the position and look of it. The restaurant was closed and not open anymore..huge let down as we had a breakfast in it ..cold breakfast cereals, fruit yoghurt..it was lovely room and would be great to have dined in it. The staff were friendly . Check in was easy. Room wasn't ready but we had notified them our arrival time. It was a short drive to the beach front. Fuel was easy to find..check out prices cause some were very expensive. Motel was next to a BP fuel station.

Not a bad spot. Really enjoyed the World Triathlon event.

Not a bad spot. Really enjoyed the World Triathlon event. The restaurants were great, beaches were good. A few lovely beach pools to lap swim in. As with all big towns they have their fair share of yobs in loud cars trying to get noticed. Saw a bunch of young men ripping out a street sign as we rode back to our accommodation one night and filming themselves. There is an epidemic of electric motorbikes on the bike paths. They don't seem to realise others use the paths and are just dangerous. This is a real shame as the paths are well used by bicycle riders, joggers and walkers and are a fantastic resource. If you like the outdoors Wollongong would be worth a visit. Just be wary on the bike paths.

Tamworth is a bigger town than expected but without the traffic queues. We went to the look out and enjoyed the scene from afar. Visited the big guitar and The Australian Music Hall of Fame - -found it was built in the shape of a guitar. Shopping Centers were not as crowded but loved the little shops along the main Peel street. We had the opportunity to see the Professional Bull Riding show and that was exciting. Also had the opportunity to visit Nundle (mining town) and various farmers markets. An enjoyable discovery of Tamworth

My 9yo son and I thoroughly enjoyed Dubbo zoo, it was a fantastic couple of days. We dined one night at the Shire Bar and grill, which had a great atmosphere, good food and good service. Pizza Cravings on another night was also good. Our accomodation at Budget Stay was an excellent location to drive to the zoo and walk into town. A wonderful short holiday for father and son :)
