It’s a lovely boutique hotel in a great location. One of the rooms that I booked had unobstructed view of the lake which is awesome. The courtyard and terrace are a good place for gathering for those traveling in bigger group. All staff members of the property are pleasant, welcoming and helpful. The two ladies serving breakfast were superb in customer service; they cooked some veggies specifically for me upon knowing my dietary needs.

The receptionists ( 2 young ladies ) were absolutely delightful. They tried to make our stay comfortable and gave us invaluable information. The only disappointment was that we could not get the 4 star VIP boat seats for the day we wanted, but they made sure that we did get the tickets for the next day!

The staff at Guilin HeShe Lakeside Resort are beyond phenomenal. Melody and her team assisted my grandparents as if they were family. Besides the most amazing staff team, the surrounding views and scenery in this area is breathtaking, the rooms are just as seen on photos, and the room views are one of a kind. Melody and her team provided not only a place for my grandparents to stay, but a lasting memory of Guilin and the people you can potentially meet along your travels. Richard and his staffs are amazing. The view from our rooms (pool and lily pond facing) is lovely. Even though there are no lilies in the pond as it is winter, the mountain view from our rooms is just magnificent! We enjoyed the relaxing and informative hourlong complimentary tea appreciation session --- came complete with fruits and snacks :). The hotel provides good choices of complimentary breakfast sets, ranging from local 桂林米粉 to toasts and waffles. Dinner is tasty and reasonably priced. Richard is very accommodating, allowing us to use the restaurant to play our boardgames after dinner, serving us complimentary free flow tea throughout our game and even help us cut fruits. Even though the hotel is not in the heart of city, it is very convenient to travel to city (cab ride is only ~US$2 to the city). We actually like the fact that it is not located in the city as it is more relaxing and the view is better. The hotel is right across a nice cafe, 5 mins walk from a strawberry picking farm and walking distance to bamboo rafting jetty. The hotel also provide scooter rental. Tea Cozy Hotel staffs give very good sightseeing and activities advices and helped us book the paid ones at a discount. I like the fact that they do not push sale on paid activities, instead they would actually advised us to do free sightseeing (amazing ones like the 3 bridges) that are more suitable for the weather. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay at Tea Cozy Hotel.

This is a lovely hotel with stunning rice terrace views, and a great location to explore the nearby rice terraces and ancient villages. I loved sitting on our terrace, sipping some tea and reading in the early morning and evenings. The rooms (including bathroom) are very spacious and comfortable, and the hotel restaurant is a good option for food whenever you need it. Jason, the property owner/manager has excellent English and was very responsive before and during our trip, and arranged the taxis we needed to arrive from Guilin station and then onwards to our hotel in Yangshuo. Highly recommended.

This is easily the best hotel I’ve ever stayed in! This was the ‘splurge’ part of our two weeks in China and it didn’t disappoint. The service was incredible, the duty manager checked in periodically to check how we slept, if we needed help with anything, if we had onward transport sorted on the day we checked out. The rooms and grounds are beautiful and very well maintained. The food was delicious and there was a very good range of things to choose from. I would really recommend the river cruise and the cormorant fishing trip, both were highlights of our China trip.

This is a fabulous hotel. Room was large with a full wall of window. Great amenities. The pool and spa area offer a steam bath and sauna. The gym was a bit dated but still functional. I don't eat much of a breakfast so I didn't feel the cost was worth it. Bar area was nice and the large atrium is impressive. The concierge managed a Li river trip with return that was perfect and priced below any other 4 star cruise with a private driver who spoke English.

The Hotel is placed close to Yangshuo on a very peaceful road with a beautiful scenery around it. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful with planning activities in the area. The Restaurant has a large menu the food is delicious. Just 2min walk from the hotel you can rent Escooters and bikes for very cheap. I would recommend to anyone to spend a couple days here to relax :)

everything is wonderful. Staffs are polite, friendly, and kind. They served me a fresh fruit juice while waiting for check-in process and gave me a souvenir when checking out. They use Chinese and English. You can see Guilin Karst mountains from windows all day. Amenities perfect. The location is quiet and surrounded by nature but not too far from city and sightseeing spots.

The view is superb!

The view is superb! I have never seen anything like this in my life. The locals are kind and ready to help. Very safe to travel by family or alone. It's best to spend a week there and explore the region by renting a local electric scooter . But some point of interests are far apart and required to travel by boat so if you can't be bothered, make sure to have your local tour guide to help.

Guilin's natural beauty is unquestionable, but the city has to upgrade its facilities such as free wi-fi covering main transportation entries in the city. It is a city with rich cultural and historical heritage, but we cannot see much of the cultural activities. There is a grand building( theatre) beside the Jiefang bridge, which costs 100 million RMB to build, is empty. The public transportation has no electrical display of stops. The recording is difficult to hear and understand.

UNESCO site. Beautiful landscapes. wear proper hiking waterproof shoes. Raincoat for rainy days in March. plan to spend at least 2 nights. book rides with the Hotel to facilitate the arrival process...visitors have to pay entrance fee to the Ping On village. there is a ticket office and security gate for this purpose. travel light and enjoy its natural beauty.

We absolutely fell in love with Nanning!

We absolutely fell in love with Nanning! The city is so green and full of life — everywhere you look, there are beautiful trees and parks. The food is amazing as well… delicious, affordable, and so many different flavors to try! There are so many fun things to do, especially the amusement park — it’s definitely a must-visit when you come to Nanning. We only stayed for 3 days this time, but it wasn’t enough… we will absolutely stay longer on our next visit! The only downside is the traffic can be quite crazy, especially during rush hour. If you’re not used to the cars and scooters like in China, it might feel a little overwhelming at first. But honestly, that’s just part of the city’s energy and charm. Overall, Nanning is a wonderful place to travel — green, exciting, and full of great food and friendly people. We can’t wait to come back! 🌿✨

Something important to mention is that the map location on booking.com didn't correspond with the actual location of the hotel I stayed in! so this is something to double check and rectify! Beihai old town was fantastic and shopping for pearls and eating out was wonderful-there are beautiful souvenirs, great food and architecture and it is the best place to buy pearls (bracelets, rings, necklaces, broaches etc...) A trip to the nearby Weizhou island is quite the treat but the actual beaches in Beihai seem to get way too/ridiculously crowded in the Summer and seem to be in a state of development with lots of construction taking place next to them!

Beautiful, underrated, I should have stayed one more night. It was very easy to get around and the entire village at Ping'an has English and Chinese signage all on farming/hiking trails. I can't believe how empty the village is and part of me is concerned that not enough tourists are visiting even though I loved the serenity of it. Many stores/hotels were empty or closed, perhaps due to COVID-19.

Nanning is a beautiful city.

Nanning is a beautiful city. We enjoyed an evening exploring the streets around the hotel even though there were quite a large roadwork project going on. We only spent one full day in the city to fit in at the end of our 15 day visa free viit to China. Qinxiushan scenic area is quite stunning and a beauitiful place requiring a full day to fully appreciate. There is a lot more to see in and around Nanning so we may need to return one day!

Yangshuo is what people think of when they think of Guilin.

Yangshuo is what people think of when they think of Guilin. It is set in beautiful surroundings, with karst hills, forests and rivers, is full of history and interest and is packed with lively bars and restaurants but has easy access to quieter, rural lanes and villages. Visitors love to dress up in local dress and photograph themselves so there's quite a party atmosphere. I loved it and wished I'd stayed longer than two nights.
