FAQs about hotels in Corsica
From Stunning Mountains to Relaxing Beaches
Beautiful Corsica, a French island in the Mediterranean Sea, boasts charming little towns and grand sandy beaches. The birthplace of Napoleon, it's the most mountainous island in the whole Mediterranean and is called the Island of Beauty for a reason.
West of Italy, Corsica is a special French region with its capital in Ajaccio, the island’s largest city, featuring a quiet harbour and plenty of Napoleon memorabilia. Indeed Corsica seems to be a birthplace of history makers, as the town of Calvi claims to be where the great explorer Christopher Columbus was born.
This is a perfect destination for long-distance walking and a lot of people visit every year to try the famous GR 20, the most difficult Corsican trail that takes 17 days to complete. Make sure you enjoy the sunny beaches, most of which offer snorkelling, windsurfing and kite-surfing opportunities.
The local cuisine is a delicious combination of French and Italian influences with many original dishes which will keep your mouth watering. Try the canistrelli pastries, pork meat delicacies and unique chestnut dishes!
Whether you’re looking for family or 5-star hotels in Corsica, Booking.com has nearly 400 properties, including aparthotels, hotels and apartments on this gem of an island.

- Scored out of 10, guest rating 8.7Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 753 reviewsThis apartment was ideal for a stay in Porto Vecchio. It was very spacious with plenty of room for 2 adults and 2 teenagers (two bathrooms which was great!) We had a corner apartment with a very big balcony overlooking the pool and the town of Porto Vecchio. Also ideal for eating breakfast with delicious pastries and cakes from Maison Pietri boulangerie which is only a 5 minute walk from the property. There is also a supermarket directly across the road. The property is really well kept as is the pool area. It is about a 5 minute walk to the Marina or a 15 minute steep uphill walk to the lovely centre of Porto Vecchio where there a lots of restaurants and bars. There is also a free bus that goes up to the town centre. There are also some amazing beaches in the vicinity (Santa Giulia & Palombaggia) We loved our stay here and would definitely stay in Salina Bay if we returned.Guest review byjuneIreland
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 8.0Very good - What previous guests thought, 60 reviewsThis was our third stay. Everything that we wanted; quiet, calm although we decided to go close to the end of the season when I feel that the island must be very busy. Expensive but exclusive - apologies if that sounds snobbish - and I think that is also a huge draw for some. Main residents and visitors are Italian and French. The staff are amazing and I really want to highlight those who took particular care of us - Joe from Sardinia, Victor from Monpelier, Luca from Rome and the lovely lovely Barbera our wonderful house keeper. They made everything so much better - if that were possible. This place is our idea of paradise.Guest review byAlisonUnited Kingdom

Ajaccio is a lovely small town with lots to see and do, considering its size, and especially if you can move in the surrounding areas as well. Corsica is a really beautiful island. I recommend renting a car and driving around - there are some really exciting routes you can take with endless amazing scenery. Try the road from Piana to Porto if you can. It's breathtaking.Guest review byJyrkiFinland - 10

There are two parts to the town - harbour front about 5 mins walk; citadel about 15-20 mins walk. It is steep uphill to citadel but there are routes that smooth out the walk. Old town is scenic with lots of restaurants doing Corsican food - quite competetive on pricing as a result so you can get 3 courses for €26 and the place is buzzing in the evening. Harbourside has fewer restaurants and more typical sea side food. If you hire a car, it will likely be electric. The main charging points are at the Auchan supermarket about 2km north of Porto-Vecchio. Despite the beaches to the south, eg Palombaggia, being more famous we found Pinarellu to the North as a great beach locationGuest review byStephenUnited Kingdom - 10

Bastia is a wonderful town with a bit of everything going on, but without having a hectic feel. The central marina is a very peaceful place to just hang out or to have dinner. There are many restaurants and our sampling was very favourable. It's a town worth visiting for sure.Guest review byMBoyleBCCanada - 10

We loved the concert at the church, walking around the Bastion, strolling around the harbor, taking boat to Lavezzu Island where we walked the trails. We enjoyed several meals in Bonifacio. All tasty. The guide for city walk from tourist office was knowledgeable.Guest review byDianeUnited States - 10
The size of the town and its citadel.
The size of the town and its citadel. The look and feel of the place with its fantastic beaches of white sand and turquoise waters and the passerelle between the sea and the forest . Ease of accessibility on foot, by train to Ile Rousse and the beautiful beaches en route, proximity by boat or by organised excursions to discover spectacular landscapes around and over Calvi. I absolutely loved the place and will be back.Guest review byChristinaSwitzerland - 8.0

A lovely small town with a nice vibe and plenty of options to get out on the water and explore the coast. The town is great but also easy to get up into the hills for fabulous walks with wild goats and amazing views. A lovely combination of beach/sea and mountain/ forests. We'll be back next year!Guest review byJulietteUnited Kingdom - 10

Beautiful town, folk very friendly considering it is a tourist town. Great for nearby walks, superb river swim spots nearby. Lots of choice for eating drinking chilling. Easily 10 nearby walks from town or using very cheap bus service up valley. Great info available at tourist office, ie detailed walks and maps. Plus mountainbiking up restonica valley. Was never too hot in Mid August 2025.Guest review byAndy - 10

Lovely old town, with lots of quaint streets with restaurants, bars and shops. The town beach was lovely but Bodri Beach, 3km away, is beautiful. The walk from L'ille Rouse to Bodri was VERY hard to find, but it can be done!Guest review byCaroline - 10

Location ideal for touring Southern Corsica. Evening sunsets were beautiful. Many good restaurants for evening meals.. particularly enjoyed Riva Bella and Dolce Mare. Car parking was good on the port side and the barrier was up when we left after our evening meals. Appeared to be numerous boat trips available if required.Guest review byMalcolmFrance - 4.0
Saint Florent is a charming little town about 45 mins from...
Saint Florent is a charming little town about 45 mins from Losari. Unfortunately it’s packed with bars and cafes which serve a purpose but like a lot of places in Corsica mean that there’s little or no space for anything else- just feels like it lacks a bit of culture. Again like most places in Corsica any dish will cost you the standard 20 euros and I was amazed (as with other places in Corsica) how sparse the fish options are on menus- I’d expected it to have been a seafood paradise. So saint florent is ok for the day but given the awful beach (brown water and ridiculous winds) unless you like sipping overpriced cocktails and staring at the super rich on their yachts (who by the way are also getting their kicks from sitting back in luxury and staring at you) there’s not a great deal to do!Guest review byNickUnited Kingdom
