There are lots of positive things to say about this hotel! For me the stand out thing through was the kindness, friendliness and helpfulness of the staff (I'm sorry not to remember everyone's names, but huge thanks to the lovely Ronojoy and Charlotte, the restaurant, bar and breakfast staff). I was with my elderly parents both of whom have a disability and the staff really went above and beyond to help and be kind, I am more grateful than I can say. The staff were truly outstanding and it made our holiday. Other big positives were: the convenience of the bar restaurant, and the food was really excellent both there and at breakfast, everything was delicious and there was a great range of options; our rooms all had wonderful sea views of the bay and Elizabeth castle; my parents used the spa and loved it; rooms had lots of storage space, nice toiletries in the bathrooms and comfy beds.

FAQs about hotels on Jersey

Beaches Worthy of the Mediterranean

In the English Channel, just off the Normandy coast, Jersey has wonderful beaches that wouldn’t look out of place in the Mediterranean. The largest Channel Island, it is a UK dependency, but has a distinctly Gallic feel and a dialect closer to French than English.

Home to the largest concentration of Jersey hotels, St Helier - the capital - is centred on a harbour protected by 16th-century Elizabeth Castle, an offshore fort beautifully lit at night. Gorey also has fantastic Mont Orgueil castle, which dominates the multi-coloured façades and fishing boats below.

Trinity in the north has one of the Jersey hotels on the beach and a wildlife park. Speaking of animals, in fields nearby and all over the island are fine examples of the brown Jersey cow that originated here.

Grève de Lecq has a beautiful curved beach, while the longest beach runs along the west coast from the St Ouen to St Brelade regions. In between is St Peter, site of Jersey Airport, while the war tunnels in neighbouring St Lawrence are now a museum and one of the most popular Jersey attractions.

Whichever choice you make from the range of apartments, guest houses and hotels in Jersey on Booking.com, it’s comforting to know that you are staying on a Fairtrade Island.

There's nothing not to like at the Ommaroo. The staff are exceptional. Cannot do enough for you. We were upgraded to a room with a sea view and a balcony. In total we stayed in three rooms in the hotel as we originally booked a double and the next morning we were upgraded as a sea view was available. The beds were really comfortable. There is a great selection for breakfast. The hotel is immaculate and literally a stone's throw to the Lido. There are bus stops right outside the hotel that runs directly to Saint Helier.

The Hotel was fantastic! Our rooms were spotless and very comfortable. It has a lovely feel to the Hotel and has lovely communal areas to sit and relax. The breakfast was busy but can’t really expect anything else but the choices were plentiful. We also ate dinner in the hotel and the food was delicious. The thing that makes this hotel special is the staff.. they are friendly, welcoming and really couldn’t do enough for you.

A hotel with plenty of individualistic charm. This is coupled with very pleasant and helpful staff. I rate this as one of the nicest mini- holidays I have ever had. The hotel is privately owned, and the big name hotels being corporately owned can never compete against the personal stamp a private owner can put on a place. Thank you Westhill for a lovely time!

The position o'looking the water was a huge bonus. Watching the huge tide going in and out and listening to the sea breaking on the shore below. Magic. Close to the local buses which were great to get about. Good choice for breakfast and lovely restaurant with outdoor area to watch the world go by.

A good focal point to stay, the rest of the island was easy to navigate. We came across on the ferry from Poole with our own car. The historic sights were amazing, great people who engaged with us to give lots of welcome information. For mid October we had dry, sunny weather most of the time. Enjoyed two good restaurants Aha and the Bastille - food was very good, service second to none!

Lots of different eateries . We enjoyed food at The Salty Dog and also from The old Court House. Both restaurants were good value. There is another place The Boathouse and Anchor which is on the harbour. If you want a loud bustling atmosphere stay downstairs, For a pure dining experience go upstairs. The harbour itself is full of boats and quite pretty. Walking is for the most part on the flat. The boardwalk along the beach is pretty but watch out for bikes.

The area of St Clements is lovely, great sandy beaches with free parking and clean public conveniences, and a few lovely pubs to eat at. Small supermarkets (Morrisons and Co-op) are also around and are open late. Jersey is not very big, but all the parishes have something to offer. St Saviour is on the East side of the island and close to St Helier town centre. Several good hotels and eating places. There is a Howard Davis Park, the War Tunnels, St Saviours Church, and the Hotel de Normandie has an Ayurvedic Spa, has several schools/colleges, and its famous people like Lillie Langtry (1853–1929), British-American socialite, actress and producer from St Saviour.

We had the castle behind us and the harbour in front of us which we were able to see from our room. The castle was worth a visit and the harbour and sea coming in and out was pleasant to view with a glass in your hand. Easy access to all over the island,we like history so were able to see the war tunnels and museum. I think we were staying in the right place, away from the hustle and bustle of the capital and other busy places.

There is a huge and lovely beach here. The area is good for swimming/surfing and it is not too busy. There are lifeguards on a southern section of the beach. We spent a week on Jersey but we could easily have enjoyed a couple of weeks as, beyond the beach itself, there is miles of easily accessible coastline to walk and explore.

Great place to stay, picturesque, quaint, very 'chocolate box'. Fab if you like that sort of thing, I guess. It is a little off the beaten track but again, that's probably a plus. Not much choice for eating and what is there, apart from the 'Hungry Man' cafe, is not cheap. Could do with a general stores perhaps?

The hotel is impressive on the outside, but the rooms are rather old-fashioned and very dark. That said, the ambience, the staff and the hospitality were all excellent. Breakfast was also excellent. Only improvements I would suggest are stronger light bulbs in the lights to make the rooms lighter and better lighting in the bathrooms so that one can better see when looking into the mirror. Also, it would be better for the environment and cheaper for the hotel if it installed soap, shampoo and conditioner wall dispensers, rather than the current tiny plastic-bottle versions.
